What are your favourite style of comedy movies? Slapstick? Dark Humour? Witty? Or just darn right stupid?

Also what are your favourite comedy films?

Mine would have to be the films where It's either darn right stupid or funny moments that actually happen in real life. They may be bad movies but it doesn't stop them from being and funny, and that's what makes me love 'em. 'Dude, where's my car?' is a massive example of that.

I feel the same way Trev. Dude, where's my car? has to be my favourite comedy. :D

Anchorman
Dirty Sanchez Movie
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back
Austin Powers series
Extras Christmas Special (was on TV, but it's an hour and 20 minutes long, counts as a film to me).
Mike Bassett England Manager
Borat
40 Year Old Virgin
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut

Just a few of my faves. The top 2 are a league above the rest though tbh.

Ace Venture 1 and 2
Lair Lair
The Mask
South Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut
Austin Powers 2 and 3
Rush hour series
Happy Gilmore

I think Jim Carry and Adam Sandler are great comedy actors

Totally agree. Jim Carrey is just superb, Adam Sandler also is a legend. Seth Rogen's work is brilliant, although I am yet to see 'Pineapple Express' or 'Zack and Miri Make a Porno'. Justin Long is another great actor, although he's not in that many comedy's. He's just a great all-round actor.

Eughhh, Adam Sandler's the most over-rated 'comedy' actor in the world. He's made 2 good films, Happy Gilmore and Big Daddy, the rest have been awful or barely watchable at best. He doesn't even remotely come close to the likes of Ferrell, Carell, Vaughn, Stiller or Myers. Might just be me though......

Anchorman tops the list for me. Such a brilliant film but also too hard to pick just the one moment I like most. I like Bruce Almighty as well, think that's pretty funny but that's probably just cos I love Steve Carell's involvement. When Bruce 'controls' Evan's brain is just made of win.

Gonna try and relate to the older members now though. The Naked Gun films and 'Airplane!' are up their with my favourite films of all time.

"Surely you can't be serious, sir?"

"I am serious... and don't call me Shirley."

Leslie Nielsen ftw.

The Airplane films rock, you should check out "The Big Bus" Culli (if you haven't already)

I'll risk being lynched by the entire internet and say I didn't think much of Anchorman. It was ok, but I'll not watch it again.

My favorite comedy movies (or at least the ones I can currently think of) are, in no particular order....

Top Secret - Add this to the list with Airplane, Police Squad and The Big Bus
Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey - Just for the line when Death says "He Melvin'd me"
Gross Pointe Blank - Probably in my list of all time fav films, its not an out and out comedy but its dark humor makes it stand out, plus John Cusack and Dan Acroyd are legends.
Monty Python's Holy Grail - Well all of the Python stuff actually
Blazing Saddles - Who doesn't find the infamous Baked Bean scene funny?
Groundhog Day - Ned... Ryerson. "Needlenose Ned"? "Ned the Head"?
Feris Bueller's Day Off - Classic
Wayne's World -Denied!
Space Balls - Mel Brooks does it again
Austin Powers - of course
There's Something about Mary - Who didnt laugh at the hair gel gag?

Probably many more to add to this, but that'll do for now

Yeah There's Something About Mary is one of my alltime favourites. I get the title mixed up with Along Came Polly which was crap :/. Gotta love the band that just appear :D.

Police Academy Series :D
I think Homer Simpson hit the nail on the head when he said to Bart

We live in a society of laws. Why do you think I took you to all those Police Academy movies? For fun? Well, I didn't hear anybody laughin', did you?

How could I have left off "So I Married An Axe Murderer" from my list? Another Mike Myers classic.
