Commonwealth Bank Series (Australia, India, Sri Lanka)

if dadaji can be picked...then why not dada ? :D

Dadaji is also finished. He will be thrown from plane when it reaches 10000ft altitude by mystery PC member in that plane.

When Yuvi was injured before CB series.Team sent the S Raina for back up.And that was the clear Indication that They are not in Great mood to bring back Dada or Dravid.
And anyway I think if we Stuck with sachin and Uthppa then its not a bad combination.Uthappa can take out some pressure and allow sachin to set down his nerve.
But I still strongly belive If India go for chase,Sachin should be batting at number 4..This will make our middle order More Stronger!!
Anyone knows where does Manjrekar live??I want to kill him...

Its ok..I'll be charged same for two Murders..Its better I'll throw Dadaji in to space. He'll never come back...Useless fielder..hopeless batsman..lol..

RP Singh,Sreesanth,Zaheer,Irfan?

And are you the same guy who wasnt believing me when i said there are fast bowlers in india(including ishant) that can bowl fast? They just need the chance. You said that india cant produce fast bowlers. And i said there are bowlers who can bowl fast.Look at ishant now.But yeah you were wrong - ishant is a star.;)

Well, Ishant has been timed at 150kph but as the schedule has worn on, that has dropped down to the 140kph area as the tour takes a toll on his body.

RP Singh has not done very well in ODIs so far, Zaheer Khan does not take wickets at even one per game, Irfan has lost a certain zip to his bowling and Sreesanth is currently awful. One of those four will seriously need to prove themselves in ODIs to ensure they remain in the team.

Yes. Ganguly had been coming in at number 3 when he wasn't opening and given Sehwag's performance in the Test matches, he was bound to be picked for the ODIs. So our batting line-up would have been, if the two seniors were around:

Tendulkar
Sehwag
Ganguly
Dravid
Yuvraj
Dhoni
Uthappa

Both Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir would not have been in the line-up, and both have put in some invaluable performances in this tournament. And, of course, Sharma has fielded well.

__________________________________________________________________________________________________

Rohit Sharma has been average with only one or two good performances but he is one for the future and should be there in the team. The batting line up should begin like this

Tendulkar
Ganguly
Gambhir

Mind you Tendulkar and Ganguly are the most successful opening ODI pair in the world and they played pretty well last year too.It was never the issue of batting form and thats why I repeat that I don't see why Ganguly should have been dropped. I don't think there are many reasons why Sehwag should be in the team.Look at him play dude.I don't know why you keep assuming I am against newcomers when I have not said one word against them... It doesn't mean that if Ganguly would have been playing then some very useful player would have had to give up his place in the team. Ganguly is more useful than some of the players playing for India right now... specially Sehwag.
But it wouldn't have. While you have already flicked the switch in your fickleness and gone into Sehwag hate-mode, he was probably our best batsman in the Test series, even having played 2 games. It was him and Pathan that changed the complexion of our team and allowed us to get the victory at Perth. Dropping him after him showing form like that would have been something that you would probably be crying about now if someone like Gambhir or Sharma had a poor ODI series.

I personally don't think we should play Sehwag in ODI's but I can certainly see why he was given opportunities. He was being picked on form, the same reason you think Ganguly should still be in the team.

It seems the Indian fans are obsessed with the speed of the bowlers. It's something I've always found while reading Planet Cricket posts and I find it very intriguing. Speed is a skill, but not the skill. It's fascinating because I don't find other teams fans bothering too much about pace. People shouldn't worry about Ishant's pace, from what I've seen of him, he has more than enough talents in other skill areas.

It's mostly because we've never had a genuine out and out pace bowler. It's become the obsession to find one.

We have a few quicks now who are pretty fast though.

Come on, Ishant is easily as fast as Flintoff was at his peak.

Flintoff was regurlarly hitting 94mph plus at his peak with the ability to bowl the odd ball at 96.

Then again, 151 kph is probably about 94 mph.

But yeah, Sharma is more than fast enough. He shouldn't be pushed to bowl even quicker as that will only drain him and mess with his accuracy.

Flintoff never regularly hit 94. His regular pace at peak was about 91. Like Harmison his quickest delivery was roughly 94-95mph.

Wasn't Dev an out and out quick?

Yes!

That performance showed why Praveen should be in the team instead of Sreesanth or Munaf Patel!

My bowling line-up ideally would be;

Ishant/Khan
Chawla
Pathan
RP/Sree/Munaf
Kumar

The positive thing in the midst of all this is that when Zaheer comes back, he'll have a point to prove, so we could be seeing the best from him soon.

Yeah because who was last the bowler for India who could do batsmen for pace?

(except RP Singh)

Its because every other team has a quickie, and until now we didn't...

Ishant's speed is fine at the moment. He bowls quicker when he's got a wicket or two under his belt or is in the middle of a fiery spell. He just needs to maintain his length now.
