Cricket 2004 -PS2 - Batting Tips

Hi

Ive recently bought Cricket 2004 on the PS2, my first cricket game in a decade and although Im a little disappointed I think the game has potential. However, my problem is Im appalling at batting! I think the highest score any of my batsman have got so far is 10.... My problem is in the timing of the swing.
Has anyone got any tips??? Would appreciate any advice.

Nets, Avoid batting on hard and green pitches, start on normal, use AI patch.

Yeh batting is real hard for me to but my problem is i recently used a cheat which is R2,0,L2,R1 select and now whenever i play one dayers the opposition always hits fours or sixes.And im even playing on easy mode.I cant take it off any help?
