what are your cricketing hopes for the year 2009?

A few of mine...

Zimbabwe to be reinstated as a test nation
Hamilton Masakadze to have a good year
Graeme Cremer to be given another chance to shine
T20 WC to be cancelled in favour of more test cricket

Kevin Pietersen finish the year as Ashes winning captain and the highest run scorer in 2009.
Stuart Broad finally show his talents in the Test arena and have a cracking year, would love to see him finish leading wicket taker in the Ashes. That'll go to Mitch Johnson though, I'd even be tempted to put money on it.

That's pretty much it.

England to win the Ashes and Middlesex to gain County Championship promotion. Anything else is a bonus.

Dravid to find his touch again.
Yusuf Pathan and RP to be dropped.
Mendis to terrorize all nations except for India.
Pradeep Sangwan to have a better year.
Ishant to be the best bowler in the world.
Piyush back in the Indian set-up.

Subramaniam Badrinath gets a Test cap for India.
Dhoni ends the year with his unbeaten record as captain of the Indian Test team still intact.

Are you related to Cremer by any chance? I'm just guessing by your username and location. He was a good bowler...


I'd like to Zimbabwe stripped of International status, yet all Zimbabwean players given freedom to play anywhere in the world without International status.
Dhoni and India staying unbeaten
England winning the ashes
India retaining the T20 WC (How awesome would that be?)
Bangladesh to win a Test Match, and to lose in the finals of the T20 WC ()

I'd like to see Piyush Chawla to get a run in the Indian side along with Badrinath. I also want Shah to have a solid place in the England side in both ODI's and Tests like he deserves. Ishant Sharma to have another great year.

Bangladesh to win a test
The Cardiff test to be a nightmare, with crowd trouble and a poor pitch
Essex to finally win the Twenty20 Cup

Pujara and Badrinath to play for India in Tests.
Ishant to be the best in the world.
Yusuf Pathan to hit some mountainous scores in ODI at a mountainous.
Dhoni to manage to average in the 40's in Tests.
Dravid to regain his touch.
Sehwag to continue the way he is but a bit more consistent.

I really, really don't want to be pedantic as I hate pedants but you should just write 'The Ashes', not 'ASHES'. 'ASHES' implies that it stands for something, and it doesn't.

Plus, your hope ain't gonna happen.

Well with Andy Moles as NZ's new coach I hope he improve all the things John Bracewell couldn't do such as help us become a decent test side. I also hope he calls up players that have shone throughout career in the state shield that John Bracewell never liked such as Greg Hay, Shanan Stewart and Joseph Yovich (although he's getting a bit old)

West Indies to win a test series. Against anybody really just win a test series, hope its England:upray.

Fidel Edwards and Jerome Taylor to end the year in top 10 test wicket takers.

Adrian Barath to make a successful debut in tests.

Daren Powell to be dropped from the test team permanently.

Shiv Chanderpaul to continue his great form.

Someone else on the team to step up and help the one man team.
