After the successful trail run in October the Davison cup will be up and running this year. With 6 teams taking part in a T20 tournament. The league will be run using the Dice Cricket game and Total Cricket Scorer 11 will be used to score the results.
Teams Selection
There will be 6 teams available to choose from. You can pick your teams from the following cities and assign them any name you choose:
Toronto
Montreal
Calgary
Ottawa
Edmonton
Mississauga
Winnipeg
Vancouver
Brampton
Hamilton
Regina
Halifax
Each team will be given the following Skill points for their teams:
4 - Highest rated batsman or bowler
6 - Second rated batsman or bowler
8 - Third rated batsman or bowler
12 - Lowest rated batsman or bowler
you can decide how you want to balance your teams:
As an example how your team should be rated:
Player | Batting Skill | Bowling Skill |
---|---|---|
Player 1 | ||
Player 2 | ||
Player 3 | ||
Player 4 | ||
Player 5 | ||
Player 6 | ||
Player 7 | ||
Player 8 | ||
Player 9 | ||
Player 10 | ||
Player 11 | ||
Player 12 | ||
Player 13 | ||
Player 14 | ||
Player 15 |
You should have at least one wicket keeper and have at least 5 bowlers on your team.
Match selection
We will have a home team and an away team. Before the match both teams need select if they want to Bat or Bowl upon winning the toss. The away team must also mention if they want heads or tails, if they both select the opposite of the other then there is no need for a toss.Each team also needs to decide what bowlers will bowl what overs. (you can pick as you see fit)
Example:
Player 15 will bowl overs 1,3,18, 20
Player 14 will bowl overs 2,4,17,19
Player 10 will bowl overs 5, 7, 11, 16
Player 4 will bowl overs 6
and so on.
Each team will also need to decide how aggressive they want to bat.
Here are the levels of aggressiveness:
Level 1: Safe
Level 2: Standard
Level 3: Accelerated
Level 4: High risk/Slog
Example:
Overs 1-6: Standard
Overs 7-10: Safe
Overs 11-17: Accelerated
Overs 18-20: High risk/Slog
Another example:
Overs 1-3: Safe
Overs 4-9: Accelerated
Overs 10-12: Safe
Overs 13-18: Standard
Overs 19-20: High risk/Slog
You decide how you want to Bat and Bowl.
Difference from the trail run
The biggest concern people had in the trail run was that form wasn't taken into account during the simulation, so the biggest difference will be that form will indeed matter, the batting and bowling skill you have chosen for your players will differ from match to match depending on form, so you gold batsman might drop to silver or bronze depending on his form and your red player might gain form as the tournament goes on. (How I will be deciding this is something I have been working on for a while which is the reason why this took so long to come out)
Player selection: Since you will be picking your own players the change here will be that only real life players will be selected. To keep things fair there is a 2 player per country limit, as long as they have played a T20 match in the past 24 months and have not retired they can be picked. You must however pick at least 2 Canadian and 2 USA players on your team. Since you will be giving your own players base ratings drafts are not necessary.
Another change is you will choose what dice I will use for your team. The options will be:
- Roll the dice manually
- Use google dice
- Use rollthedice.online
- Use rolladie.net
- Or any other dice website you can find online (Must be approved by me)
- Each team will have two DRS reviews.
- DRS will only be used when a player is LBW or Caught behind by wicket keeper
- Before the match each team will select a 40, 25 and 10 range of numbers between 0 and 99
- example, They will select for their 40 range (25-65), for their 25 range (74-99), and for their 10 range (23-33)
- The DRS will automatically be used the first chance a player is LBW or Caught behind by the keeper.
- For the first review the 40 range will be used.
- If you are successful you will retain your review
- If you are unsuccessful you will lose your review
- For the second review, regardless of the outcome of your first review, the 25 range will be used.
- If you are successful you will retain your review
- If you are unsuccessful you will lose your review
- If you have any reviews left, the rest of them will use the 10 range to see if you are successful or not.
- For the first review the 40 range will be used.
- DRS will only be used when a player is there is a leg bye for LBW, or a 0 on a bye for stumping or caught behind (depending on the bowler)
It is not as complicated as it looks. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me
