It’s 2009 and it seemed like the future of Derbyshire cricket was non-existent with the team playing as a minor county in 2008 and all former players cut due to financial restraints but thanks to James Packer (son of Kerry) an Australian has saved cricket again. James has put numerous funds into many facets of the Derbyshire CCC but the player management is something that appears to be beyond his control.

James went out and hired Tim Coyle former Tasmanian cricket coach to help establish the team from players who have no first class experience. Tim Coyle continues to search for young players wanting to play for Derbyshire and with the season fast approaching, if they can even get a team on the field it will be a success but winning a game will be an entirely different matter.

Selections will be based upon form in the game and participation in the thread and the people who sign up first will get the best players according to position. I would love some assistance with images if possible but I would like them to be of a high quality.

I see that a lot of stories similar to this are struggling to get underway due to a lack of members and if I don’t get enough I will attempt to recruit through private messages although I do encourage you to get others involved. I would really appreciate it if other storywriters signed up to help me get started.

The story will fold if I don’t get any support so sign up!

At this time he was offered a position in the NSW squad but turned it down moving to derbyshire where he entered there academy at only 18 years of age.
