Allright, I thougt to give Inzi retirement after WC, I thougt he would! But he is still there! 39 years old and playing! =/ I just don't wan't to kick him out! :(
And also Waqar Younis is ALSO still in the game.
I am in 2009... So my question was, does the players retire? OR they play till they get 99 years old or something?
I like the idea of the game, but it get's quite boring when you just play matches, with no media news and stuff like there is in Championship Manager games...

they do retire eventually in most cases before 40 but in some they carry on for a while.
nice idea of media news, hopefully it will be availible in future versions

And also that the players have feelings and are realistics! Afridi getting world cup final hattrick against India wich made Pak win the match ++ 70*
And players like Afridi should be playing their natural way... :)
Like a Championship Manager or Football Manager version cricket manager game would be the best thing ever!!!! :):):):):):):):)

it would be a nice addition to the game but going by the past history of the developers of the icc series, hoping these features in the future icc series might be a bit on the optimistic side.Maybe cricketcoach does not dissapoint us!

I generally have a thing, that if I need an old player in my team they will retire, and if an old palyer isnt really needed, but used as a good back-up now and then, they hang around forever. But I have had players retire before they even hit 30

I seem to experience older players lose skill in their late 30s before retirement, my New Zealand team at the moment averages an age of about 35 (probably should blood some youngsters) and they are all losing their touch. I'm in 2011 at the moment and Brian Lara is still making centuries at the age of 41 :S

lol lara always seems to stay in international cricket for a long time

I thought this thread would be about the minnow players (ie. the Netherlands), every world cup now I'm playing against a team of 160 year olds

Oh, I had Inzamam in the tour of India and I let him play one innings wich he made 30 from 30 balls! :(
And after that he retired! :(
So Sad, if it was a played like him I would have given him some bowling and opening and letting him making century or something! :(
And he suddently went! :(

In the middle of a series
They retire at ends of a season

yeah that is quite weird. so were you a player short during the rest of the tour?

im going through a bit of a delima about retirement aswell. kumble had a gr8 season last year. but this season in the first 2 matchs he has only gotten 2 wickets at an average of over 150. i dont know whether to retire him now as he is weakening my team or to take the risk and carry on with him.

For me the international players seem to retire almost whenever they want to at times.

Giles retired BEFORE the World Cup.

Like, after a tour of Bangladesh, he just retired before WI 2007.
