I'm confident. I might be wrong, but I can't remember Firaxis releasing a really bad game, whereas they've released some really good ones such as Sid Meier's Pirates!

Yep. Pirates was and is a load of fun. Firaxis' Xcom is probably one of my most anticipated games of 2012 now.

Game Informer's February Cover Reveal - XCOM Enemy Unkown

It does look as though there's been some dumbing down, but it still looks like an amazing game and the music, something that was very important in the first game, is superbly creepy!

Edit: By the way, the entire Xcom collection is at Gamersgate for ?2.49 - that's five games I think. The first two are must buys, the third is a great game, Interceptor is a good blast, but I haven't played Enforcer. Most people don't seem to like it.

This game is really shaping up well - the Geoscape portion especially is going to blow Xcom 1994 out of the water.
