I think the title says it all, so what do you guys think? I'm a firm believer that Indoor(or action cricket as its known in SA) destroys the game and ceates technicla flaws in your game. Any thoughts?

As ive played it for the last 4 winters i can tell you, it keeps you active, its nothing more than indoor nets really.

Last winter i wasnt going to but due to a re-occurence of a shoulder injury i had i wanted to keep it moving else it stiffens up on me.

Indoor cricket is just a bit differnt with surface really, its still Cricket but in a differnt form, its just like saying does 20/20 ruin it...the answer is probably but we all love it and its great fun.

i think indoor cricket kit is best way to keep u quick as i know ricky ponting also playing indoor criket in his earlier time.

indoor cricket has effected my ability to play the cut shot but has improved my blocking and running between the wickets

blocking because if you block straight into the ground it bounces up and you get 2 and it helps you angle your bat so less chance of an edge

running between wickets because your always looking for a run andthats the mindset you have to have in outdoor cricket now as well

Its a good game to keep you fit and active but it does affect some off-side shots like the cut and late cut etc...

I believe that indoor cricket tends to improve your shot-selection and your reflexes.

I know Kent CCC usually send a team to compete in a 6-A-Side indoor tournament against France and Belgium around Febuary time, so they must see some merit in it.

The nearest I ever got to playing indoor cricket was playing in the hallway when I was a student at Uni. Not a passtime I recommend if you want to stay friendly with your landlord thats for sure!!!

Yeh ive noticed my reflexes are much quicker i love being one of those indoor players which can hit the stumps from anywhere on the court i recently ran someone out without even looking

i started indoor cricket in November 2006 having ended the 06 season with an average of 22.5

indoor is now finished and after 6 games this season i average 6

i have certainly been affected but i dont know about ruining it

having said that i lead the team in runouts and catches so that area has been improved

Id be more worried about averaging 22 to start with

Im an oepning bowler ive averages under 12 with the ball for 3 seasons in a row and now i open the batting and i average 30

Its about quick running, just tapping blocking and go!

People talking about indoor cricket as a whole differnt thing to cricket Or saying it affects negetively on players are totally wrong. Its just like playing on an artificial wicket, and playing indoor gives you a great insight into what differnt wickets feel like, its just basically like a hard, bouncy quick wicket, it improves shots like cuts and pulls aswel as quickening up reflexes, and for bowlers well, just play your normal game, unless your in a atmospheric hall like i played in the winter which somehow aids swing and makes it happen, dunno how the technology works but its "atmospheric," or something.

you dont tap and run.... you hit it into the ground bounce it into the top of the side net. i got an australian jersey from someone i know who plays indoor cricket for australia. top level indoor is amazing to watch
