The West Coast captain Michael Hussey went on a celebratory lap of honor across the large MCG field after clinching the 5-wicket victory.
The trophy was then presented to the West Coast team who celebrated long and hard.
Adelaide's captain George Bailey who was dejected yet pleased with his team's overall performance in the season, congratulated his opposite number and headed back to the dressing room as proceedings ended.

Woot! We have done it! To comeback after being 3 down for 34 was a great effort. Extremely well played by the middle and lower middle order especially Sanga who has been the one of the vital cogs in our line-up. Good to see Watto standing up for the big game after being pretty average in the league stages of the game. It was a great game of course. One would feel the Crows exceeded the expectations and they almost pulled off this one with young Kane Richardson causing early blows to us but in the end our experienced batters kept their cool and snatched the victory from the jaws beak of the Crows.
Credits to you Varun for resuming this and managing it very well right through.
