Why is Ganguly banned here? India are starting with the tests and Ganguly has only been banned from six ODI matches!

England have announced their 21 man squad to tour India and Sri Lanka, Head Selector, Duncan Fletcher announced the squad today at a press conference.
ECB said:

Mark Butcher, Simon Jones and Graeme Thorpe will only be playing Tests and Darren Gough, Ian Blackwell and Kabir Ali will only be playing One Day matches.

England's first tour match, against India A at Chennai, will be coming up soon, will England play a full strength team or try out some of the backups?

Since it's just a tour match, I think it's a good chance to try your players as it won't really matter if you win or lose.

Pre-match

India A vs England at Chennai

Welcome to England's first warm-up for the Tests, against India A.

We've got a really hard pitch here at Chennai and Sriram has won the toss and chosen to bowl, which will be good for them early on but will be hell to bat on on the last day. It's sunny and humid with very little chance of rain, so it will be hard work for both batsmen and fielders.

Gambhir, Balaji and Pathan are Indian players now.

Anyways, a great start to your story mate. Looking forward to it.

They're giving a bit more strength to the India A team, it not only makes it more competive but also gives these players who have had little domestic cricket for various reasons, more practise.

mate nice to see you coming to planetcricket I am banned from cricket web by the way :(

Trescothick out- England 12-1

After a sharp bouncer from Irfan Pathan, Marcus Trescothick lost his cool and was out, caught at mid-on, it was a poor shot from the opener, and has set England off on the wrong foot for the series.

Trescothick tries to keep a neutral look after being dismissed but is obviously dissapointed.

Trescothick scored 5 runs off 5 balls with 1 four, he was caught by Sandereep Singh off the bowling off Irfan Pathan.

Captain Michael Vaughan joins Andrew Strauss at the crease, and these 2 will be looking to start well.

Vaughan Out! England in trouble at 25-2

Michael Vaughan is out, he clipped a ball off his legs to Balaji, England need to settle down and concentrate on keeping their wickets in hand, Andrew Strauss and the new batsman, Kevin Pietersen, who was pictured on the way to the crease, need to play defensively and get their heads down.
