It'd be kinda funny if they didn't. Personally I don't think Vaughan offers a lot and with batsmen the order of Strauss, Trescothick, Cook, Bell, Pietersen, Collingwood and Flintoff to be selected, England is much more fearsome without him.

They shouldnt because they are injured!!

They can still play for England but it might mean they get new clubs???

But he is the best captian.
That is what England want with him and let the main players such as Pietersen Flintoff and Trescothick do the main scoring.

Vaughan isn't crappy at all. His a brilliant batsman, I'd have him in my team over all Bell, Strauss, Trescothick, Cook, Collingwood & Flintoff. Test Match wise atleast.

what? are you on crack? vaughan > FlintofF?!?! vaughan > cook?!?!?! vaughan > tresco?!?! vaughan > strauss '!?!?!?, Michael is hardly the batsman he used to be and to have him in the side to captain and nothing else is pathetic.

No, I'm not on crack and you can't say Vaughan isn't as good as he once was because he hasn't played in about a year and his got a good couple of years ahead of him. You won't see Flintoff, Cook, Pietersen, Trescothick & Strauss making 3 large centuries against Australia in Australia in one single ashes series, will you? Vaughan's only 31, an age where most batsman are batting better then they ever will. BTW, didn't Vaughan make the largest score in last year's Ashes?

Yes but he only made 1 big score and a fifty in the next game. And the last Ashes series in Australia was 3 years ago, things change over a period that long... I would like to have him as captain but if his atting weren't up to scratch I wouldn't drop someone for just his captaincy.

In a series where only 7 centuries were made and only 1 man scored more then 1 century and that was Andrew Strauss (2).

only 7 centuries? 7 centuries in 10 innings isn't too bad, especialy in england where it swings/moves a ton, lots of rain.. bad light, the bowlers dominated that ashes series.
Vaughan made 1 ton, Strauss 2.
Vaughan made 3 hundreds in a series in australia, Amazing for him but you can't ride on that for ever and make excuses for him to keep his spot "oh remember in 2001 where he made 3 hundreds..blah blah blah" Strauss, Cook and freddie are way better batsman.

It was in 2002/2003 I believe.

Strauss is a very good batsman but not better then Vaughan, atleast not yet. The guy just can't carry on after getting 100.

The future will tell if Cook will be better then Vaughan because just like Strauss, he hasn't suppassed Vaughan.

Flintoff though, definately is not a better batsman then Vaughan. I think stats and natural common sense sum up the fact that in the batting department Vaughan tops Flintoff. Flintoff is quite clearly a bowling allrounder.
