the start of the first test has arrived and both sides looked focused before the toss preparing for a crucial test match.

after all the preperation the captains were ready for the toss

- and Michael Vaughan called correctly and England choose to bat

Lunch time update coming next stay tuned....

So the Atmosphere around the ground is noisy and everyone here is ready for the start of whats sure to be a wonderfull series - so without further delay lets get straight into the action:-

Play continues here in this First test of a three match series - Englands batsman at the crease are Marcus Trescothick and Kevin Pieterson - Lets re- join the action

So England are struggling here at Ahmedabad on the First Day of the series, Indias bowlers started slowly but now they must think they can really get into the rest of England middle order - lets get back to the action.

So England starting to fight back here against the Indians and it was needed as England will need a lot of runs here first Innings to be competitive - lets rejoin the action -

So England have lost theyre most important wicket and argueably the best English batsman at this current time with others seemingly out fo form, England will need one huge fightback if they are to get a competitive score 1st up here - Indias bowlers really are bowling superbly. Lets get back to the action with not long to go before lunch with England desperately needing some resisitence

So then - England have fought back bravely here just before lunch to try and get back into a reasonable position here in this test match on such a crucial first day - Andrew Flintoff started some fireworks after coming in but now seems to be settling - This game is currently on a knife edge with the next move or break for either side looking to be crucial in the context of this match

So heres the situation at lunch -

ENGLAND 122-4 30 OVERS

So weve had a thrilling mornings cricket here at Ahmedabad we will be back with coverage of the Afternoon session - stay tuned - and we hope that you are enjoying our coverage of this crucial test match
