The Match:
England had a terrible start, losing Andrew Strauss in the very third ball of the innings. Trescothick scored 16 before falling leg-before-wicket to Daryl Tuffey.
Shane Bond was keeping a tight line, and was the most economical of all the bowlers.
Collingwood was caught at Gully by Craig McMillan of the bowling of Tuffey.
Then came in Freddie Flintoff. Flintoff and Vaughan first steadied the England innings. Vaughan soon reached his second fifty in as many games.
Then suddenly Flintoff went ballistic, smashing 26 runs in one over. He infact reached his fifty in just 26 balls. Chris Harris, whose bowling figures
were destroyed by Flintoff did have the final laugh, getting Flintoff caught at Short Mid-Off by Jacob Oram.
After that no one was able to give any substancial support to Michaeal Vaughan who scored his first ODI century. Both Ian Bell and Chris Read got out cheaply. Only a brisk 20 and 14 from Blackwell
and Gough at the end, enabled England to reach a very high score of 275. The only sad part being that England were not able to last the entire 50 Overs.

Stay tuned to this thread for the Kiwi run chase as they try and avoid England from clinching the series. This is the highest total in the series so far, the previous being 246-8 by England in the 2nd ODI at Auckland.

The Kiwi chase...
New Zealand themselves got to a bad start after both their openers, Craig McMillan and Stephen Fleming were back in the pavilion without troubling the scorers. New Zealand were reeling at 34/3 when Nathan Astle was caught by Michael Vaughan off Darren Gough.
Then Cairns and Styris were involved in a 61 run partnership, before Cairns was dismissed for 30 by Harmison, after the all-rounder edged the ball to Marcus Trescothick at second slip. New Zealand still in trouble at 95/4 of 18.2 Overs.
The next partnership of 157 runs between Styris and Harris proved be the match-winning one. Harris scored a quick-fire 66 of 72, while Styris went on to score a fantastic 125 of 156 balls. New Zealand did suffer a late scare when they lost three wickets in the space of just eight runs.
But Jacob Oram and Daniel Vettori ensured the Kiwiz of a three wicket victory, with 20 balls to spare.

Scott Styris was named Man of the Match for his superb century.

The series, which England once lead 2-0, is now level at 2-2. The final ODI at North Wellington is now well set up for a fantastic series decider. Its winner take all.

Stay tuned to this thread for the final ODI of this National Bank One Day Series.

The ODI series will be followed by The National Bank Test Series.
