We do sell Borini for 14 mil, then we technically brought Balo for 2 mil, great business done by BR. I reckon Balo can mature at Liverpool, unlike other clubs, he will have the backing from the fans and that was seen out side of Anfield yesterday.

Slapped the scum.

Holy cow, Fulham suffered 5 goals against Derby. At this stage they will get relegated. :lol

the idea that balotelli isn't anything but a complete and utter steal at 16 mil is completely ridiculous. I'd maybe be a bit worried if we bought him at that price, but any team that can regularly pay over ten million for a player to get him for only 16 is exceptionally good business.

The media loves Liverpool too so if he gets his head down and fixes his attitude he'll be a star (easier said than done).

Yeh but if you factor in how easy it is to get fresh off the boat drugs, guns and the proximity to knowsley safari park there is no way Balotelli will be able to behave in this city.

Gah...as SS said, another pedestrian performance by us. We badly need a signing like Di Maria to shake things up, but we also need shoring up at the back and in midfield. Vidic and Ferdinand leaving has left a gigantic gap that isn't close to being filled and in the midfield, we still await a new Roy Keane...

LVG has it right - Young was touched, but the way he flung himself down was just ridiculous. Neither incident was a penalty for me - RvP tackle looked very bad, but the defender clearly touched the ball before the man.

Indeed, you're crying out for someone like Cattermole, I really rate him. Cleverly and Fletcher were abysmal today.

Yeah, he also knew himself that he had dived as when he got booked he didn't even bother to argue.

the other thing about Balotelli is you're inviting Mino Raiola into the den, one of the worst, slimiest people in football. He'll be after sterling as soon as he's got a way in.

it's actually one of the motivations behind his sale, milan have been trying to off-load anyone connected with him for a while now because he became far too involved in club affairs.
If I'm a player, I'm doing everything I can to get that man as my agent though. :rolleyes[DOUBLEPOST=1408956281][/DOUBLEPOST]I'm so out of it this season, I feel like the World Cup's sucked all the joy out of the buildup to the new season for me, I'm completely uninterested in the games, just a general lack of excitement, hopefully the game tomorrow can get me into the swing of things.

Without Suarez Liverpool are nothing.

Spent all that money on a load of crap, Spurs done exactly the same thing with the Bale money, these players are irreplaceable.

You don't win titles with Joe Allen in your team, or Ricky Lambert up front. :facepalm

Not too disappointed with the result tbh. We had a lot of chances, but we just couldn't convert them into goals. I still don't know why Johnson is starting and why Sakho is not in the first team. We just got unlucky with our attack, but we seriously need to do something with that back 3, leaving Moreno out as he had a good game apart from that first goal mistake. I won't say we are nothing without Suarez, well obviously he was our main men, but we done it without him previously and we done well. Joe Allen was good this time, our best midfielder today and Lambert since coming on have made things brighten up. We are simply not Spurs v2.

Not one player in the Liverpool team would I want to swap with a Chelsea player, us and city are stronger in every position, Liverpool 4th if your lucky

If you seen the the game today, we had the ball, but not as much as City, and when we did have the ball we made things happen and it just wasn't good enough. Coutinho has been a let down for the last 2 games as he was the men who was the best one in pre-season. Got tight fixtures to start with, and I'm happy about that.
We should just go back to our 4-4-2 diamond.
Flano-Sakho-Lovren-Moreno
Gerrard(DM)
Hendo-Can
Sterling(AM)
Balo-Sturridge
I think Rodgers should look for a goal keeper(Backup) as at times Mignolet just doesn't seem to be positioned well like for the third goal today.
