This is funny. I hope you are just being optimistic and don't actually think that Di Maria is likely to move to United. That is his back-up back-up back-up option:lol.

.

Just had to bring this up... :)

Di Maria is the only bright spot this season though. Van Gal is probably right - it'll take years to build up a proper team again. Time will tell...

United was Di Maria's only option, mainly because of how late in the transfer window it was, so teams that would have potentially been interested had already wrapped up their business, his other big option, PSG, were tied down by FFP sanctions and thus weren't able to meet Real's hefty evaluation.

As Epic just said, it was clearly his back-up back-up option. The huge wages will dull the pain of moving there a bit!

Aguero quickfire goal confirms efficient marksman status

Henry was out of this world but Aguero is as well. Hands down best striker in the league for me when it comes to talent, he needs to make the most of that now and keep away from the injuries. He can be one of the best strikers of all time.

Some other interesting ones... Lukaku. Yet people still doubt him. The guy has insane ability for his age when you consider his skillset. Better ratio than Drogba which is insane when you consider how rubbish Drogba was at his age. Benteke is another big one, hopefully he comes back strongly from his injury. Chicharito ahead of Solksjaer which is funny, and also expect Sturridge to really rise in that.

@Lee1981 Guess who we've got in the next round of the cup? :D

Jolly - Man City seek balance with Eliaquim Mangala - ESPN FC

This is the signing that's going to make or break our season it feels like to me, and I just can't see him settling in straight away (like Demichelis) which in turn is going to put more pressure on him, as if the price wasn't enough and he's coming off with no preseason under his belt as well, one thing he definitely has going for him however is his pace, so even if his positioning is off, he can recover unlike Demichelis.[DOUBLEPOST=1409225562][/DOUBLEPOST]Still think we should've signed Benatia instead... I just can't let it go. :rolleyes

Na mate you lot can have this one

I've no interest in the Mickey Mouse cup, and nor have the club, it's all about the title this season, Jose has to win it this season or i fear for him[DOUBLEPOST=1409291381][/DOUBLEPOST]
Shearer is the most impressive one, considering how many seasons he spent in average newcastle sides, especially towards the end.
This, this, this, this..:thumbs

I have never understood why the League Cup is treated with so much less regard than the FA Cup. The League Cup is about one game a month between August and December, the final is in February/March so it's out of the way and doesn't affect anyone's run-in. Compare this to the FA Cup, where it's January to May - right when the league is so important - and there are replays to contend with if you don't get the job done first time. It just seems bizarre to me.

The League Cup still plays into fixture congestion for teams fighting for the title (CL qualification as well), the CL and the FA Cup, doesn't make much difference if it's played between August and December, we're in the CL's group of death this season, the last thing we want is to have to play any extra games from August to December because we're forced to play in the League Cup... and the FA Cup is treated with much more regard because it's every team in the League Cup + teams from 5 steps (as well as selected teams from step 6) into the National League System, and in general it is the real domestic club competition of England with 143 years of history behind it.
