I am backing the Netherlands to show the most finesse, but Ireland and Scotland will come very close. All three are evenly matched.

Scotland Squad

Craig Wright (Captain)
John Blain (Yorkshire)

Gavin Hamilton
Paul Hoffmann
Douglas Lockhart
Ross Lyons
Neil MacRae
Neil McCallum

No Dougie Brown, and only one game for Poonia. Not good enough Warwickshire!

Holland are in our WC group so this will be an interesting series. Not sure why they're playing the games in Ayr...

They wanted to give the Edinburgh pitch a rest I think. The only other two ODI status grounds in Scotland are Ayr and Abderdeen. My guess is Ayr got the nod because Aberdeen is being used for the Intercontinental Cup game against Ireland, and was used for the earlier game in the tournament against Namibia.

I assumed that would use Hamilton Crescent as Glasgow hasn't seen much action recently. Also I can't see how Raeburn Place needs a rest when Scotland have only been involved in the C&G and not the National League (Pro40).

Nice team out there.

I know I shouldn't, but Scotland will be my third side at the World Cup next year following England and New Zealand (being the slightest bit New Zealander).

As long as you do better than ireland and beat the Aussies, that's all that matters.

As for this Tri-Series it's between Scotland and Holland for me, without Brown it will be tough, but many players have county experience so Scotland to win. Just.

I'm not 100% sure as to the reasons for not using Raeburn Place, I'm just guessing. It could be that they want to give other parts of the country some games.

They can't use Hamilton Crescent for these games, as it doesn't meet the requirements for an ODI ground. It is being used for some of the non-ODI matches in the European Championships though.

Although not named in the squad, Dougie Brown is turning outfor Scotland in their ODI against Ireland today.

This makes him the third player to play ODIs for two countries. Reps for the first person to name the other two.
