Collingwood name near full strength line up

Collingwood has named a near full strength team for Saturdays round 1 clash with Fremantle. Dane Swan is the only player unavailable for the match.

Nice start mate Collingwood should have a win against the Dockers. Dane Swan not playing could be very costly. Keep it up :D

Poor kicking costs pies

Fremantle have started their season off in the perfect way by beating Collingwood by 32 points. Collingwood kicked a staggering 4.19 and had more scoring shots than the Dockers (11.9). The first quarter was quite uneventful with the pies kicking 1.7 and trailing the Dockers 2.3. The second quarter was also very quiet with the dockers kicking 3.2 to 1.0 and leading by 16 points. In the third quarter the Pies started a very slow comeback, pulling the margin back one by one - and kicking 2.10 to 2.2 and trailed by 8 points at three quarter time. In the last the Dockers kicked 4.2 to just 2 behinds and recording a comfortable win.

Scott Pendlebury was best for collingwood with 29 disposals, 12 marks and 6 inside 50s. Harry O'Brien and Simon Prestigiacomo provided great rebound, Prestigiacomo with a career high 23 disposals.

Goals: Fremantle - Pavlich 3, Ibbotson 2, Dunn, Crowley, Haselby, Palmer, Peake, Tarrant 1.
Collingwood - Davis 2, Medhurst, Rusling 1.

Best: Fremantle - Crowley, Mundy, Tarrant, Pavlich, Ibbotson, Hayden
Collingwood - Pendlebury, Medhurst, O'Brien, Davis, Shaw, Prestigiacomo.

Very poor performance by the Pies. But Well done Presti for getting a career best in disposals. Pies off to a poor start to the season . Nice writing mate keep it up.

Great to see soo many footy stories happening on here. That's a very poor start for the Pies. They would of been favourites for this match, and rightly so. 4.19 is a poor result, and the forward coach has a lot of work to do with his forwards at training.

Good update mate, looking forward to the next one.

Round 2 changes vs Brisbane

In: Wellingham, Mccarthy, Barham
Out: Dick, Goldsack, Toovey
New: Jaxson Barham (Geelong Falcons)

Geelong will miss Matt Egan for three weeks. So close, but yet so far, for the Crows against the Bulldogs. Good update mate, keep it up.

And i'm also surprised that the Carlton v Richmond match wasn't a blow out. Richmond played pretty well in the end. Hawthorn and Geelong get off to the perfect started they needed for the year.
