I am about to begin a cricket book about the most devastating spells of bowling by genuinely quick bowlers.
For example, one passage would be about Curtley Ambrose's spell of 7/1 against Australia.

I want some ideas from the Planetcricket community? Give me a few ideas could you?
I would like some people to post a few of the fastest bowlers ever, and if you can be bothered, a particular spell they bowled. You can also discuss the spells you think are the best, who the fastest bowlers were etc.

Cheers, please give me a few suggestions!

Great help, but it was only pacers, I'd say.

Anyway, the mod who approves my post, please move this to cricket chat.

Shoaib Akhtar had a great spell against NZ once too.

@ Robilinda, Clarke and Warne are far from "genuinly quick bowlers"

Hmarka added 1 Minutes and 40 Seconds later...

found it 6-30

Does it include ODI spells? Or only the tests? If ODIs, then Walsh's 5/1 :hpraise

Great feedback guys, brilliant stuff. Please keep it coming!
Sorry if it was the wrong section, just thought it would fit under cricket discussion and as it is my book about cricket, thought it would fit under my cricket. But by all means move it if it should be, I don't mind in the slightest.

@Robelinda: Thanks heaps mate, will look into all of them (It is only pace bowlers, but that list is a great help anyway.)

@Hmarka: Yeah, trying to decide between that spell and Akhtar's spell against New Zealand in Pakistan, when he took 6/11 and just skittled NZ. The 6/30 was probably more important in winning the match, but the 6/11 was just purely unplayable. Thanks for the thought anyway.

@Surendar: Thanks mate. I'm not sure whether to include ODIs as well. But I'll look at Walsh's spell anyway.

Cheers, guys.
