Well i'm sorry if a thread on such a topic has already been created, but my search found no results so i'll continue.

How many Planetcricketers out there have played any of the Final Fantasy games? I'm interested in finding out if i'm not the only one around here who absolutley adores these games. When I completed Final fantasy VII a while back I felt a huge sense of achievment, and even now in the days of XBOX 360 and PS3, I still insert that old PSone Final Fantasy VII disc into my PS2 and play it. My all time favourite game.

I've played 7 and 10 (with the help of my cousin), 7 was simply amazing...10 was good also...

The thing which makes the games so good is the fact that there are so many things to do, and the game can encompass 50+ hours which means it only runs out after about 6 months of playing.

I agree, the timescale of it is huge. Many games nowadays often tend to have a very concise storyline which focuses more on style and substance with it's cut-scene's, and in so doing removes playing time from the game. Metal Gear Solid is a prime example; It's one of the finest games that I have ever played, but it is far too short and there isn't much replayability. Final Fantasy engrosses you for heaps and heaps of time,a dn therefore teh completion of the game is all the more appreciated.

got to the dome/crater on disc 3 of 7, then my mate wanted it back as he was selling it, that was a bout 12-18months ago

i stil play 10, just beat penance (hardest boss on the game, 12 million hp) now that gave me a sense of acheivement, played 10-2 whch aint as good as 10 or 7 but is still alright, havent beat the hardest boss on that yet, but my ps2 is buste donl4-5 games (out of 25+) still work

i love the storylines and how they actually have some real life meaning, in 7 about how the planet is being destroyed (replace mako with fossil fuels, and its there) and in 10 focusses more on religion, but i wont dwell on that as it's against the rules

10-2 had a chance to do so much which the storyline of how the world acted witout a religion, but it failed to deliver

Nah...Im not stepping into 10-2...its a girly version :p...or so i hear

Ive played final fantasy 7,8 and 10 all of these where good for me the best thing about the games is the storylines of them and the way they transport you to a different place and you can in a way connect with the characters. the story is what makes them special because alot of other games simply focus on blasting things to pieces, but for those of us who like to feel involved in a game a good storyline is a must! :D

FFVII is in my opinion one of the finest pieces of gaming ever. The story is superb, the characters are fantastic, plenty of genuinely moving moments, and for its time the graphics were awesome. That first shot of Midgar when the game loads is still fairly good even by todays standards.

To top it all off, has a game ever had a better badguy than Sephiroth?

Never has there been a better bad guy than Seperoth...although his supernova move is so(ooooooooo) long!

I have to agree with you lads, Sephiroth is the finest ever video game villain. Cloud is probably the best ever video game hero as well.

I've played Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 9. And I've enjoyed all of them. Didn't play Final Fantasy 10 and above since I don't have Playstation 2 and don't want to pay monthly for the Final Fantasy 11 game, since it's only for online.

completed 7,8,10
couldnt complete 9 cause psone died that time although played it till the 4th disc
also completed around 55% of 10-2 so will soon complete it too

the aeries death scene still give me the goosebumps
also has anyone watched advent children

I've watched Advent Children, and it was absolutley brilliant, a really engrossing film. As for completion, I have finished 6,7,8,9 but I just never had as much love for X.

X has one of the best endings for any final fantasy

POSSIBLE SPOILER!

it is really moving, and quite surprising as having grown up on hollywood movies and such im used to (doesnt mean i like, quite the opposite, i hate the ending in dodgeball for example, yet love the original ending in the italian job) and the way it ends is just brilliant

in FF 7+10, the 2 heroes arent perfect, cloud has issues,, to say the least, and tidus is well, a type of dream

i want to buy 6, 8 and 9 but they probably wont work on my ps2, (been used to death and only a handful of games work)
