Great work Soumy, hope you hit a century!
Why only 30% of our deal???

Sunondo faced the next over where he smashed two fours of the bowling of T.Antony.

I faced the next over where I smashed one four and one run came via legbye. S.Das faced the next over and played all the ball defensively. One run came of that over in the form of a wide ball.

Next two overs only 1 run came of Sunondo's bat and rest was dot balls.

I smashed a four of the last ball of the 22nd over as the score was:-

Bengal:- 64/2
Sunondo:- 32(52)
S.Das:- 12(51)

I was playing defensively as I got tensed. Sunodo came over to me and said, " So far you have played well. Carry on like this"

I faced the next over and just took a single in the last ball to keep strike. I faced the next over where I smashed two fours:-

24.1 P.Chandran to S.Das, FOUR, Brilliant cover drive by S.Das
24.2 P.Chandran to S.Das, no run, Left alone by S.Das
24.3 P.Chandran to S.Das, no run, That ball was a mystery to the batsman
24.4 P.Chandran to S.Das, FOUR, Brilliant cover drive by S.Das
24.5 P.Chandran to S.Das, no run, That ball was a mystery to the batsman
24.6 P.Chandran to S.Das, no run, Defensively played by S.Das

I was amazed  as I didnot know how those fours were coming of my bat.

End of over 25 (8 runs)
BENGAL 73/2 (lead 73)
P.Chandran 7.0-3-25-1
S.Das 21(63b 5X4)
Sunondo 32(52b 6X4)

The patnership between me and Sunondo was going strong.

Sunondo faced the next over where he took a double and also smashed a four of the last ball.

I played the next over where I smashed 3 fours:-

26.1 T.Anotony to S.Das, no run, That ball moved a long way away from the bat
26.2 T.Anotony to S.Das, FOUR, T.Anotony is quite unfortunate to be hit after bowling a good one
26.3 T.Anotony to S.Das, FOUR, Great shot, four straight over the bowler's head
26.4 T.Anotony to S.Das, no run, Huge appeal for LBW but turned down
26.5 T.Anotony to S.Das, FOUR, What a blunder by V.Nair. He gave away 4 runs with that misfield
26.6 T.Anotony to S.Das, no run, Defensively played by S.Das

Sunond tried to go over the top and was caught:-

27.1 R.Prem to Sunondo, OUT, P.Chandran takes an easy catch to dismiss Sunondo
Sunondo 38 (60b 7X4)
c. P.Chandran b. R.Prem

R.Chowdhury was the new man in. He got off the mark with a four:-

27.2 R.Prem to R.Cho'hury, FOUR, What a blunder by T.Yohannan. He gave away 4 runs with that misfield

The last few balls were dot balls.

I faced the next over. I was gone in the first ball of that over:-

28.1 P.Chandran to S.Das, OUT, Big appeal behind the stumps, umpire gives S.Das the finger

S.Das 33 (70b 8X4)
c. S.Nair b. P.Chandran

S.Dey was the new man in. He went for a duck.

28.2 P.Chandran to S.Dey, OUT, What a brilliant catch by S.Aneesh

S.Dey 0 (1b)
c. S.Aneesh b. P.Chandran

Chandran was on a hattrick.....

Correct this mistake;), good presentation though. I am sad you got out.:crying

Chandran didnot get his hattrick.

I came back to the pavillion and saw the captain waiting near the door to the locker room. He said," Well played Funknath in your debut. I have seen few players getting off to such a start in his career." Many of the team members told that I played really well out there. H.Maity one of my new friends told," Nice performance mate. You played a nice knock." All this make me confident of playing well in this match.

S.Basu is the new man and he joined R.Chowdhury. He played the first three balls defensively.

Chowdhury faced the next over. He defensively played the first ball. Second ball:-

29.2 V.G.Sarma to R.Cho'hury, 1 bye, That ball spun too much for S.Nair to stop
S.Basu faced the next 4 balls and he played all the balls defensively.

31.1 S.Aneesh to S.Basu, OUT, That didnt look so convincing but the umpire gives it out LBW

S.Basu 0 (11b)

Bengal's Wicketkeeper Batsman K.Roy is the new man in. He plays his first five ball defensively.

No runs came for Bengal in the next three overs but in the 36th Over:-

35.1 R.Prem to R.Cho'hury, no run, That ball moved a long way away from the bat

After that over Bengal were 108/5.

Bengal seem to be pitching a comeback at the end here and are getting their score up. Just a note Funknath, I feel you could involve more overs, or just do session updates instead of this. Just a little note from me.

Apart from that, the writing seems good and the presentation is quite good. Keep this up just try and make updates a little longer and involving more overs/session, adding more of your own perspective to the story and to stick at it. Good luck. :)

Jaz, akash and neil thanks for the comment!! I can update my story tomorrow!!

R.Chowdhury faced the next over and he smashed two fours of the bowling of Yohannan.

K.Roy faced the 39th Over smashed one four and took a single in the second last ball of the over. R.Chowdhury faced the last ball and played that ball defensively.

As I was watching the match from the pavillion I saw Neil coming toward me.

I replied, " Yes I will be your friend."

When I said yes I saw a big smile :) in Neil's face.

All of us were called inside the dressing room.

Captain Chakraborty said," We must not let them take control of this game. Its still in our hand."

Sunondo said, " Our bowler must do their job if we want to win our opening match in the Ranji Trophy."

Chakraborty said to me," Funknath keep your concentration on the match. Do the fielding well."

I replied," Subhomoy I will try my best out there in the field."

We all left the dressing room and entered the field....
