Game too fast on laptop

I installed the original Cricket 2004 game on my new IBM laptop that has 128MG Video RAM and 1.6GHz processor. The game is just too fast and I am unable to play. How do I slow it down? Please help.

Set all the graphics options to the maximum. If that doesnot work,try installing !Xspeed and slow down the game.(I am not sure whether the game can be slowed by !X Speed)

Evne though it is about cricket 2005 the problems may be the same or related.
