So, Warwickshire are monsters in my career game. Terrifying monsters.
I wonder what kind of (if any) normalisation is applied to player skills in Career mode - I'm playing for Surrey, and Warwickshire eat us up anytime we get near them. It almost feels like we're not even playing the same game.
I just played out a 31 ball duck, where my defensive shots were often down the wrong line (in different directions, and with what felt like the same control input on my end), my bat appeared to be made mostly of inside edges (luckily my pad kept stopping the ball from getting through), and I was unable to even touch bouncers from their medium pacer (bouncers at 110 kph? Is that even a thing?)
It was compounded (of course) by the AI strikers not playing according to the match situation (Dude, we're 3 for 87. Why the hell are you trying to hit sixes?), but it still appeared that the guys down the other end were struggling to get contact half the time.
I've used Get Best, because I don't want to get into the care and feeding of a large number of cricket players and squads - and I wonder if I've simply struck a situation where the highest voted Warwickshire squad is one that was created by a Warwickshire fanboy, and thus is entirely staffed by gods?
There are a few things I really want to know:
Is anyone else experiencing this (or am I just sucking even harder than usual)?
Is there any information around the community about how much affect the levels of skill have? That is, if my boy is really a boy, and he's facing gods, do I simply have to figure that he's going to score bugger all and move on because the best possible shot from an ordinary batsman can't overcome a median delivery from a god like bowler?
Do we know anything about normalisation of skill sets in Career mode, or should I decide to take on the care and feeding of hordes of cricketers, and manually control by (say) only choosing to download teams all created by the same person?
