Group B - Bangladesh, Bermuda, India, Sri Lanka

so we have someone to go home with tomorrow :p

What if Bermuda beats Bangladesh???? You cant discount that out in this World Cup since this one has been dominated by the minnow's performances. If Ireland can surprise a team like Pakistan, why cant Bermuda do that to Bangladesh who are not in the Top 8 teams!

if Bermuda beat Bangladesh, India qualify for the Super 8 because that way, it will again be a three way tie between India, Bermuda and Bangladesh and Bangladesh's run rate already is way way below India and a loss to Bermuda would 100% qualify India (not that I have resorted to such miracles, I am still confident that India can beat Lanka).

Come on India, we can do this :happy

i hope i can skip my school tomorrow:) even though i have 2 tests tomorrow

I wonder what the probabilities are of Sri Lanka dropping some key players:)
why wud they do that when they will lose 2 points in the super 8s

well they would still be in the super 8s...so it doesnt matter if they lose rite?

Bermuda beating Bangladesh is the same as bangladesh beating India so its too unlikeyly yet possible I wouldnt count on that if i was an Indian supporter

NO... the points that they carry to the super 8's will be highly crucial. already australia, south africa and new zealand are big favorites for the semis. west indies might be the other contenders. in this scenario, a team that carries forward points will benefit the most and can place itself in line for a semifinal berth better!

so for sri lanka, this is going to be a crucial game too, though a defeat is not the end of the tournament for them, as it is for india!

Can't see Bermuda getting up, Bangladesh you know can get up and cause an upset but you don't feel that same confidence with Bermuda. So India will be force to win their match.

I read an article in HT that Harbhajan might be in for Agarkar in that mentioned lineup. Which means both Bhajji and Kumble will play and Irfan in for Uthappa to have 5 bowlers.

I wish the team plays 5 bowlers tomorrow. Our bowling is the 'so called' weaker link. We need to strengthen it with 5 bowlers and have the best guys who have done well for us in the past (not many have done well in the recent times!). So a bowling line up of Zaheer, Irfan, Munaf, Kumble and Bhajju can do good.

Dont you guys feel a sense of tension, waiting in anticipation for tomorrow's match? Its like how you would feel in those days on the eve of an India-Pakistan match. Utterly scary to think of the consequences of a defeat! Dont know how I am going to react to it. If we win, I will be elated, for sure and hopes will soar. Lets see!

I have stopped caring for those group.... I doubt if its anymore as easy to fix a match as it used to be before!
I can really feel the pressure.
I have my midsem exams from Monday but can hardly concentrate !
The tension is similar to the one before the Pakistan game in 2003.

I really am hoping and praying for an Indian win.
The World Cup needs India to go through, badly !

Lot of things have been going through my mind.

I just had a wild dream of Sachin Tendulkar facing up the last ball of the innings from Chaminda Vaas, needing to hit a 6 to win the match. And the whole of India is praying ardently because critics have always savaged Tendulkar for not finishing off matches for India. And Tendulkar, feeling the pressure, has a swat at a low full toss from Vaas, and it goes through over the ropes in utter 'Lagaan' style. At the opposite end, Sreesanth the last batsman, comes running and jumps onto Tendulkar who displays lots of emotions on the field. The whole team comes running onto the field as if they have won a World Cup! Dravid hugs Tendulkar and so do the rest of the team!

;)

Oh my gosh! I know its a dream but coming back to reality, feeling terribly tensed here. I actually dont want a close match tomorrow. Cant properly explain what I am going through. India has always tasted substantial success in World Cups. I dont want 2007 to be different!

Footnote: Lagaan is a Bollywood (Hindi) movie where the protagonist hits a six off the last ball to fashion a thrilling win against an English team!

Off topic, did you see Iqbal? Some reason, Iqbal reminded me of Sreesanth.

But you're dream seems would be way too tense for me to watch live.

I somehow feel India are winning this match ;) I dont know why though! Dravid has expressed confidently that he knows strength & weakness of Lankan team.

Positive cricket + sharpfielding + 100% confidence + some gud bowling/batting is what India needed to win today! :)

Dravid is going in Shastri's way :p so much over confident

Less than 8 hours to go; hopefully it will be a cracker. I won't be that disappointed if India crash out because it will always be fodder for blogging. :)

Can't wait :) Bangladesh deserve to go through just for beating India but if fate will go that way is another question. Of course if India can beat SL then they deserve to be in the next round given the way they have gone against their first two teams.
