QUEENSLAND all rounder Shane Watson has withdrawn from Australia's limited-overs cricket squad for the series against Bangladesh, due to a calf muscle injury.
Bulls teammate James Hopes has replaced watson in the squad to play three matches in Bangladesh.
Watson sustained the injury during Queensland's Pura Cup final victory against Victoria.
He retired from Queensland innings with cramp after scoring an unbeaten double century.
The withdrawal completes an injury-riddled season for Watson, who was sidelined for two months during the summer after damaging his shoulder in the first Test against West Indies.
Poor guy I was really looking forward to seeing Watson re-establish himself. Can't see Hopes being effective on these Bangladeshi tracks.
