How do I add a already registered new friend?

Hi,

I have send email invites to some of my friends, and when they joined, they automatically appeared in my friends list. But the people who have joined or registered separately are not visible in my friends list.

How do I add these already registered persons to my friends list, so that I can play a match against them whenever I want?
