As I said in the Random Thoughts thread, I've started watching this show with my sister. We've just finished the first season and love it, though we both reckon the Big Bang Theory is better

lol, funny show i watch whenever it comes on tv. but i've seen quite alot of episodes now.

It comes on after Big Bang Theory on E4. It's an average show but I watch it anyway because it's an easy half hour to go through.

Ha watch the episode of 'naked man' everyone. The idea is that if you strip off naked you will get sex that night. The theory is the girl will be shocked then laugh then have sex with you. Used as a last resort when you know there isn't going to be a second date.

I think it's a brilliant show in the way the episodes are written and the season is structured. The episode layouts are usually very unique, episodes like '3 days of Snow' or the one where Ted makes it rain for Robin are fine examples of great writing. They films scenes for later episodes well in advance, and they drop a lot of clues and hints in earlier episodes that turn out to be relevant in later episodes. A fine example is how Robin leaves and reacts whenever Barney starts to talk about nailing a new girl right after they two break up. The show continues on from this point. But, these scenes prove relevant at the end of the season, where they show that Robin got up and left to cry and was seriously hurt. They filmed that way in advance and subtly built up to the reveal at the end.

There is a lot of great humour in the show, Barney is epic, the great running jokes (Slapbet, Robin Sparkles), and the great acting makes this one of the best sitcoms today. It's brilliant.

It tries too hard, imo. Like that guy at a party who never shuts up, this is the programme equivalent.
