Hey guys,

Now that the ICC database is editable, I wondering if it would be a good idea to revamp the whole system. I dont know about you fellas, but I get over my game after a few seasons when all my international stars have gone. I'm not a big fan of having a whole bunch of random generated names on my team. As such, I was thinking, whether it would be possible to edit the existing player names to reflect players from say the 80's and 90's. As the years go by, the new players coming into the side could then have the names of the present players. Is that possible or would it be too lengthy a process?

Thanks

You could always edit your regens as you play, changing their name as their style changes etc.

total noob here....no idea how that works :S

i get what u mean....my bad....
i still reckon the creators of cricket captain give this a thought atleast...it would definately give it a lot longer longitivity

there's absolutely no way we could do that. like literally no way. the limit of what we could do would be to edit a cap file for one team...say england or whatever, and make the database represent whatever decade you wanted. but when those retired, it wouldn't be the current players coming through, it'd still be regens who don't exist coming through.

Unless you then editted regens etc etc etc. It would be rather tricky.

i dont actually see the point in this.

No regens you want, well just change the names of players to names that you recognise frm present and history.

what you were trying to do wouldn' have given them the same skill as original current or retired players eitherways. you were only probably looking for the computer to generate same names every decade, !?! rite.

that sux...but still thanks for the help guys....i guess either the creators gonna have to allow this somehow or some way or another need a better database editor....wish they themselves released one a simple one that is....once again thanks for the inout fellas
