ICC Champions Trophy 2013 - England & Wales

Skater mentioned that the curators these days are going for batting tracks. The pitch is friendly for batting, but I'm surprised how fast the conditions improved at Edgebaston in less than 48 hours.
Though I'm still not convinced if Indian batsmen will put up a fight. :p

Rohit Sharma back to his normal mode. Give him that MI jersey.

I am damn sure Rohit is again going to be superflop. He is really useless and ideally a franchise player

Not really happy with the way its in the Champions Trophy.Bad wicket.I would want only a green damp wicket and a wet outfield. Its high time curators think that cricket also belongs to the bowlers.Lets see which batsman performs in such conditions.
I think one player who can play in such conditions well now is only the Aussie skipper Michael John Clarke.

I said a couple of days ago, the idea that English pitches produce swing and seam is outdated. We've had hard, flat wickets for years.

It depends what the overhead conditions are, on a cloudy day the ball does still swing and seam.

I am not really happy that India won today because this was just a sub continent track and i dont think all ground will have such a awful track. So we need to see what our Indians can do in the true tracks with the weather having a drop of water in the atmosphere which has been England's climate in the near past.I am aware that Dhoni and Kohli play Malinga well but not sure if Dhawan,Vijay,Raina and Rohit can.Malinga did not play today. And the biggest thing is our bowling. The bowlers still bowl with a T20 frame of mind.Mishra and Ashwin were not able to utilise the strange turn in the English soil. One cant say if Dhoni & Co would get to chase everytime.Neverthless Virat and Dinesh made commandable efforts with the bat, good to see them play well.Kohli has made it a habit and Dinesh is using the rare oppartunity that he gets.

Superb display of batting by both sides on a rather batsman-friendly wicket. But what stands out for me is the recovery DK & Kohli made after IND were 110/4. Some seriously good shots. Bowling was pretty mediocre for both sides, not that the pitch did much, but the line & length was ordinary too.
Still, hoping for some bowler-friendly tracks as the competition progresses.

On an overcast day it is very hard to bat in England, make no mistake about that.

Once again, I agree with what I said. Indian batting can chase down anything. Rohit Sharma can chase anything as long as he wears a MI shirt.

It wad delightful to watch Virat batting like this, awesome inning and yes Birthday Boy DK batted well too, impressive strokes. I just hope DK's form continues in the real matches against mighty teams, consistency matters :cheers :clap

I hope Umesh Yadav gets to bowl and RJ gets to bat against Aussies on 4th June in 2nd warm-up :thumbs

If Vijay is played as the opener, then I would play DK in place of Rohit Sharma in the middle order for sure. Would be very happy if Karthik can finally fulfill his potential in international cricket with consistent performances. Hope he does! He can also be a superb backup for Dhoni for the keeping gloves.

Good stuff from Kohli! Hope he lets ONLY his bat do all the talking.;)
