Saw someone post this on Twitter, and I couldn't agree more. Pakistan cricket will be a Pakistan hockey-like debacle if we don't fix our roots.[DOUBLEPOST=1560713714][/DOUBLEPOST]
When your captain doesn't listen to advice from THOSE two players, then you know you've got a problem.
That is something only Sarfaraz can answer sadly, I was surprise that he bowl first too.

Ok, I can now sleep in peace. Though I would be rooting for India to get to Final, I wouldn't be sad/disappointed if we don't, unlike all the other times.

Kohli also wanted to field first. Just letting you know. It is madness to suggest you should bat first when you know a game will be rain affected. Again, this is as a fan acceptance on your part that Pakistan cannot chase. You don't win majors with that attitude.

Pakistan fans need to stop comparing this to the 92 World Cup performance, in 92 world cup we had a great team of Imran Khan, Wasim Akram, Javed Miandad, Rameez Raja, Inzamam Ul Haq etc, plus Pakistan Run rate is really bad.

Plus You can't compare a great smart captain like Imran Khan with a poor one like Sarfaraz.

they keep posting this:

1992 World Cup:
Match 1 - Lost to West Indies
Match 2 - Won Match 3 - No result
Match 4 - Lost
Match 5 - Lost

2019 World Cup:
Match 1 - Lost to West Indies
Match 2 - Won
Match 3 - No result
Match 4 - Lost
Match 5 - Lost

Sarfaraz is not the toe nail of Imran Khan. Toe nail. You are talking about the greatest leader of all time?

Lol same here!! Just win this match...rest of it doesn’t matter ;)

Great line by Shoaib Akthar: Ham average(pakistani) players se extra ordinary expect kar rahe hai - Translate (We expecting extra ordinary from Average (Pakistani) players) haha so true.

At least these cricketers are humble. Akhtar was average and a fool to boot. At least the current cricketers won't belittle their own country and country men?

It's a sport. Yes, Pakistan were poor today but I would appreciate less trolling of them. They are humans and tried their best.

I feel it’s not lack of talent but lack of a gameplan that did them in. I don’t think it was a bad decision to bowl first seeing the conditions and chance of rain, but then bowling short and not making use of those conditions was poor execution. There is no reason why other bowlers should be going at 7-9 rpo on a pitch where Amir was going for less than 4. That’s just poor bowling and they failed to keep any sustained pressure on the Indian batsmen. Bowling short to Rohit Sharma was just bad bad execution. And then the spinners bowled like part time bowlers.

Pakistan always had amazing bowlers but in this match atleast, they bowled like club cricket bowlers. They just didn’t give the batsmen any chance here, 330+ was always too big a score to chase in a India Pakistan WC match.

Batting wise, I always felt that should have showed more intent from 10th over onwards, specially when facing Shankar. The two batsmen who scored half centuries were playing so slow that it was always gonna put a lot of pressure on the batsmen that came in next. This is not how a team will ever win matches when chasing 300+ scores. You always need to make the first 10-15 overs count if you need to chase 300+ scores.

Also, why didn't they send that left handed batsmen before Sarfraz. Hafeez would have then not needed to take risks so early in his innings and maybe they could have made a match of it

Well Manjaros restaurant is in Manchester so I guess it is true, I saw Virat Kohli in the gym training hard and our players are smoking shisha.:facepalm
I think that's Wahab Riaz in the hat with Malik in that pic.
They are not smoking it though...maybe just sitting with friends for dinner before a big game

I just saw his VLOG. I wish I could ask him why he couldn't help Pakistan defend 276 in 2003 which is essentially today's 325-350?

What's the issue if he is? This is as lame as blaming Virat for having Anushka over in the S/F of the 2015 WC.

Pakistan needs to show a little more faith in their players. You guys as fans should start and stop eating whatever your 'insane' media feeds you. I'll give you an example- Star Sports went a step further today with the "baap" crap and I immediately switched channels. I prefer watching balanced reviews from other places I've chosen. The energy and mindset you create as a country has a vast bearing on not just your sport, but even the other matters of a country. I'm not saying we don't have the 'cheap' media. But, I choose to not consume it. I know Shoaib Malik will come in for hell from across the border, but Pakistan's management hasn't exactly treated him well by dropping a senior pro. Look at how well India are taking care of Dhawan? Steve Smith looked all sorts in the IPL and I was actually one of the people who felt Handscomb deserved to be selected ahead of him. But, look how he's repaying them. How many limited overs did Starc play in the last two years? Compare that with how Amir was being ripped to shreds? We ignore the human side of sport and tend to just rely on scores. They almost never tell the full picture.

Some of my PAK friends here know my respect of Imran Khan. But, it's not great to have your PM or even ex-WC winning captain hand you a dossier or memo in the public domain about the strategy you must adopt to win a game. Over a phone call? Hell yes!! By doing it on the platform Imran chose he just added pressure on Sarfaraz and created a fear of backlash if his opinion was not adhered to. Ironically, his entire tweet was about being fearless. Perhaps, he forgot that when Imran Khan speaks, the world listens not just Pakistan. A rare lapse in judgement from in my opinion, the greatest leader of our times.

Guys, at least this game showed there is genuine space for decent sporting banter online between fans of these two sides. Twitter was unbelievably full of sattire and humor that host sides understood. Long live Indo-Pak cricket for that.

Also, a huge fan of Karachi Khatmal now.

I just want to take a moment here and pen down an observation I've made-

People very often talk about the 'skill level' of this Indian team. I honestly feel we are not 'excessively extra skilled' compared to the other 3-4 top sides. I think the greatest strength of this side and has been since the Dhoni era in white ball cricket is the ability to assess conditions and do so very promptly and react accordingly. A lot of other countries also assess the conditions but the ship has sailed by then. In this department, India is streets ahead of any other team and it's an area that does not get enough importance.

Just notice how these Indian batters do not look desperate in the fag end of the innings be it bowling or batting. Dhoni lends a lot of calm to the situation and I see Kohli following in his footsteps as shocking as that may sound.

I feel India is the strongest side in terms of mental strength and I don't remember saying this for any team bar Australia since I started following cricket in 1992.
