We have been following the ICC blindly.
Forgive me, if not all are.
I feel that the ICC is just assering it's power of the world in cricket.
Many a times it has been unable to get out of its own problems.

They have been accused of not staging the 2003 WC well(though here i feel otherwise).
It has also not been able to sort out the sponsor tangle it has got into.Remember it had a fight with the Indian board.
This time too they are on course for a fight with the BCCI.I'm not saying that the BCCI is not at all at fault.
Also a proposed 20-20 World cup seems far from likely

But,has the time come to have a new body govern cricket.

What is needed is for the ICC to show a little bit more muscle. They need to start sorting out the situation in Zimbawean cricket, and also stop India trying to run the game the same way England and Australia used to 10 years ago.

I think the ICC simply needs to re-evaluate their responsibilities. Cricket has traditionally not been a game which requires a central body to function--in a way, the ICC has imposed themselves on the game. They can shorten the game's to their liking to draw crowds, but in my opinion, nothing beats a highly contested game of cricket. And you're most probably going to get that when two strong teams play.

Anyways. They also need to be slightly less bureaucratic.
