WI are all out for 115 against UAE ! That's a complete shocker. Any idea about the pitch ? Is it that favourable for bowlers or did WI bat really bad and UAE bowled well ?

UAE are 7 down for 58 runs. So, definitely bowling pitch. But still getting all out for 115 against UAE is bad. No offense meant for UAE fans.

Think at this point in WI cricket no one should be surprised by any loss to lesser known cricket nations like UAE.

I know Windies and Afgans are going to qualify but still rooting for netherland and nepal.
Hope other team put good fight against afg and wi. It would be shocking if afg and both wi dont qualify.

I do not know what the pitch was for West Indies UAE game but its not acceptable at all a team with senior players like Gayle, Samuels and others get bowled out for 115 twice in two matches. There is some fundamental issues in the cricket of West Indies and that needs to be addressed quickly. I would love to see Ireland and Afghanistan qualify as that would mean a test nation out of the WC which would open ICC's eyes of playing a 14 team WC.

I will say 2.
1. If WI fail to make it to the WC the cricket in West Indies will suffer more. The broadcasters will cast doubt and deals will be way less than what they are making right now. This in turn will affect the domestic scene and I see not many turning to play cricket in near future.
2. Probably an eye opener for ICC as they would not have a test playing nation in a WC. Things could revert back to 14 nation WC.

Second point would work in favor but the first point is scary.

in ways... Lets see what the council decides... But for the time being I think WI won't be able to recover for next five years or so... I don't see any future there... Although it used to be my favourite team...

Even a 14 team world cup is very small. It should be at least 16 teams, just like U19 CWC 2018.

Scots beat the Afghans. Callum Macleod scores 159. I already said that Afghanistan will have a tough time playing on non spin friendly tracks.

Zimbabwe surely going to win following the unbelievable 100 by Raza from 60 balls or so.

Ireland also about to win.

Still early days in the tournament but I hate to see Afghanistan loose. I would absolutely be gutted to see Afghanistan not qualify. The Raza inning was surely brilliant and amazing.

As much as I like the Afghan team, there over dependence on Rashid just really annoys me. I cant seem to remember a match where Afghanistan wins, while Rashid doesnt perform.

That was some serious poor play from Afghanistan. Got just a little over confident. They were 150/3 cruising along nicely. With Ireland, Scotland and Zimbabwe winning 2 out of 2 and WI starting the campaign with victory these four have the maximum chance of qualifying. I think it will be Zimbabwe and West Indies. I see Scotland faltering in the end stages and Ireland might just give edge to Zims.

Unfortunate to see Afghanistan go down again, especially through a close biter. I'm hoping they get to the Super Six stage at least. They are a bit too dependent on Rashid and really need to invest in good fast bowlers. They've got the spinners, but need fast bowlers who can get breakthroughs in the Powerplay. Also, it's very odd that they make Rashid Khan the captain. It is a big burden on his shoulders for sure and he is a young guy that doesn't need to be under pressure with captaincy just yet. The selectors should just let him focus on his bowling and make someone else captain, like Mohd Nabi.

On the other hand, I thought UAE fought and played superbly to make almost 300 against WI. They showed excellent fight and character, espacially with that 113* from Rameez Shahzad. This will be quite interesting, as well if WI will qualify or not.
