ICC World Cup Qualifiers 2018

Scenario 1

So now we need West Indies to win against Scotland and Zimbabwe to loose against UAE, the first one can happen but I am not sure Zims will loose against UAE. Even after that two happens Afghanistan need to beat Ireland. This way Afghanistan will be at 8 points, West Indies 8 points with Scots and Zims at 5 points each.

Scenario 2

Scotland beat West Indies go to 7 points, UAE beat Zims and Afghanistan beat Ireland - Afghanistan and Scotland will qualify if Afghanistan surpass WI NRR.

In either of the scenario Zims need to loose or else there is no chance for Afghanistan to qualify as West Indies or Scotland is a virtual final.
I would say it's improbable UAE will win against Zimbabwe. Their bowlers shined today, but their batting has been poor so far. They haven't been able to be consistent so far. This is in Zimbabwe's favour for sure. Unless a miracle happens and UAE win and Afghanistan beat Ireland, very bleak chances for the Afghans. Unfortunate to see them so low, but honestly I think they deserved it based on how they played this WCQ. They are too dependant on spin on pitches that haven't done much for them. They need to get another talented pacer back in.

@CricketQ20 Afghanistan will have a max of 6 points.

Yes and hence Zims need to loose which is not going to happen. If Zims win and WI wins they go up to 7 and 8 points respectively. If Zims win and if Scots win they go up to 7 points each. Sadly but Afghanistan's HK loss was a turning point tbh.

Zimbabwe so far has been the team of the tournament. Just the captaincy from Cremer has let down a little bit, which led to the loss against Windies. Had he kept pvers from Jarvis and Muzarabani for the end, the game could have been a cliffhanger.

Also don't forget Zimbabwean Crowd.
That day even Gayle started clapping for every shots.

Brilliant start for Scotland. WI are already two down.

We need Windies and Emirates to win, they can do it! Hail UAE :p

SCOTS in with a real chance here .. will be a shocker if they pull it off

If Scots win inside 44 overs, West Indies are almost as good as gone.

I dont know what to think of this

Scots qualifying over WIndies will be a big slap to ICC's idiotic decision of reducing the number of teams for the world cup. Two times world cup champs not qualifying will be embarrassing

On the other hand, it will be a big blow to cricket in West Indies and actually very unfair, because this team can do well at the World Cup. But if Scotland beat them fair and square, then they deserve to be in the World cup

Scots will not beat Windies, the game now at this stage is all about nerves. I do not see Scots handling those nerves better then WIndies. 102 in 22 overs with 6 wickets in hand is going to be tough.

Although I would love Scots to win its now all about handling nerves. To be honest the way Windies have played, Zims and Scots are the two team that actually deserve for playing good cricket consistently. Even being a Afghanistan fan I do not think they deserve it too by just how they have played the qualifiers.

I really hope they pull it off. Would be great for an associate to qualify not just to slap the ICC in the face but to show it can be done despite the obstacles. Think Windies have the edge with that fifth wicket though.
