I believe the venue might be Southampton if quarantine/bubble requirements are needed.

Simon Hughes, from his man cave, says it has been confirmed the Dukes ball will be used.

New Zealand for sure has an upper hand in seaming conditions. I think Pujara might somehow manage to stay on the crease for a longer period. With Kohli terribly out of form, Rahane looking a bit scratchy and Rohit's record overseas being as bad the entire pressure shifts on Rishabh Pant who is still very young. I think Jamieson will trouble us like he did in NZ the last time. Southee and Boult will rip apart our batting line-up while Wagner would ensure our batsmen do not have any breathing space. KW, Latham and Nicholls would be hard to get out while Watling and de Grandhomme would make some handy contributions in the lower order. Taylor would definitely be the best performer of the lot. Bumrah, Siraj/Shami and Ishant would be our key. We need one of Ashwin or Jadeja anyhow in the Finals.

This would be the side that India would look forward to:-

Rohit (Mayank should be playing in place of him but his form is worrisome as well)
Gill/Mayank (If Rohit plays then this is a knockout between Gill and Mayank)
Pujara
Kohli
Rahane
Hanuma Vihari
Rishabh Pant
Ashwin/Jadeja (my personal preference would be Jadeja but Ashwin's performance is quite commendable so this is a tough call)
Ishant
Shami/Siraj (I would want India to take a bold call and play Siraj)
Bumrah

That would be the shittiest way to end this tournament. We deserve a final at Lord’s with a fully vaccinated audience.

Our skipper just loves the Dukes ball. He has been openly praising it since ages and infact criticized the ball used in his own country-The SG Ball
he is in his worst form of his life hope he gets his old form back.

If Kohli's learnt anything from the Australia tour, he'll realize that Pant works best at six when he still has batting partners (seems to particularly like having a solid batsman at the other end that allows him to take the initiative) and that Jadeja is good enough to bat in the top seven. Jadeja's also too good with the ball to be dropped and so is Ashwin. They are two different spinners in nearly every category possible which just adds to their versatility.

The main argument for Pandya's inclusion seems to be "he can bowl quick, he can offer rest to the frontline seamers". Now he was instrumental in us winning a game over there but does he really offer much with the ball at the moment without being fully fit to bowl? Apart from that one victory the most I can remember is him leaking runs and pressure that our other seamers built up. I don't doubt his quality with the bat but then again, if you want a fifth bowler I would rather go with a bowler who has a proven track record of working with our primary spinner and who is also an electric fielder and is one of our best middle order batsmen. As I've said before, even Jadeja does not end up bowling a single delivery he would have still made a valuable contribution and him bowling even a few overs would not go in waste.

Rohit (he did show patience in this series that eluded even his fellow star batsmen, still expect him to get cleaned up by Boult)
? (I believe this will be decided by whoever plays well in the IPL and the warmup game(s). Gill is most likely but Boult and Southee will probably cause him trouble)
Pujara
Kohli
Rahane (might even be worth it to send him on a county stint)
Pant
Jadeja
Ashwin
Ishant
Shami/Siraj (Shami's always been unlucky with his good balls that never seem to get him wickets. However, this is increasingly becoming a major theme on SENA tours and Siraj is in the form of his life. Might be another close call IMO)
Bumrah

Ashutosh.
