Ideas for Ashes Cricket 2010

I completely agree with this statement, make the game fully editable, with the option to add numerous teams , players and competitions, and put the money saved from having to pay for the licence into other area's. It doesn't take too long to edit teams and someone will always produce a line up patch anyhow. The ashes licence appeared to be wasted in this game in my opinion, so much more could have been done with it.
Can they not get sponsered by companies for the ingame advertising. They should try and get as many companies such as Slazenger, Adidas, Dukes, V.B., Castle etc, onboard and then have them on the adboards at the grounds.

I have no experience in these matters so it may not be as easy as it would appear to be, can anyone enlighten me??

Totally agree with that. Great job on the game, TG but you have completely wasted the Ashes licence here.

To be fair though we don't know what is meant with "Ashes Licence". It could be that there were massive constraints on the type of licence they aquired if you see what I mean. When we say Ashes we mean the whole darn thing but that might not be what they bought. Just a thought, not trying to defend anyone.:)

how about cheating software for online play like Punkbuster or use Steam etc

I dont even look at the Stats (ranked) online, personal stats better & real

cheers

Either way, I'm sure the modders will sort that out before too long.

In the next game, we need some kind of comprehensive pitch report before we've finalised our squad for the game. Also, the pitch at any given stadium always looks exactly the same - where are all the pitch types, such as green, dusty, hard, dry and so on? I'm not saying that 'damp' (for example) should look as though it's had a week's worth of rain on it, but it should look different to 'normal', which should look different to 'hard' and so on. Not massively different, but just enough so you can notice it and make your decision accordingly.

Right now, the only 'pitch report' is audio, which many people skip in any case, and I don't know how much of it actually pertains to how the pitch will actually play.

Also, a practice nets mode would be nice for those of us having trouble getting our eye in...

I would settle for just being able to choose the kind of pitch as just about every pitch in the game is the same.

We need chatting facility, so we can talk during match:sarcasm

Fixed bowling cursor. Players online move it around too much to give a fair chance to the batsman.

Once you are half way between your run up, you should not be allowed to change the position.

^^ That annoys me too but to combat that using Australia I just slog everything. If somebody wants to be cheap by moving around too much I will be cheap and slog everything and with Australia I have more margain for error. I have also found that keeping the bowling cursor in one spot during my run up and changing the final delivery is far more effective than whizzing it around so those people should take note.

Whether you move at the last moment or move it constantly does not give a fair chance to the batsman.

I am talking about changing the delivery type by pressing the button not by moving the cursor. Place the cursor that seems logical for one delivery type then bowl the opposite or switch the speed up.

the fielders need to be in control of the players.

the closest fielder to the ball should be highlighted and you should be able to make him run by pressing RT and slide/dive by say X (i am giving an e.g. on xbox) like Fifa you run after the ball and your stamina should get affected.

the fielding is not the best, many times the ball is in diveable zone, but the AI just lets the ball pass.

I agree wholeheartedly. After all, we're not out there with a bat in our hand, are we? And we really need a chat system, so individual players can maybe agree certain rules before matches.

For example, I'd say:

Limit full balls to two an over.
Don't move cursor at the last second.
