India and Pakistan combined XI to play Rest of the World XI for The World Unity Series
The ICC and ACC today announced World Unity Series to be played between India, Pakistan combined XI and Rest of the World XI. Speaking in a press conference from ICC's headquarters at Dubai, ICC chief Malcolm Speed and ACC chief Jagmohan Dalmiya made this announcement. This series will feature 3 Tests and 7 ODIs.
In a statement Malcolm Speed said "This idea was under consideration for some time. The popularity of cricket in the subcontinent is for all to see and with India and Pakistan having such array of great players, it's a great opportunity to see them in action together against some equally great players from around the world."
Jagmohan Dalmiya said "The excitement of India - Pakistan matches is followed around the world. To see these fine players playing together as one team will be an exciting event for the whole subcontinent. And with the quality players available for Rest of the World XI, this is going to be one of the greatest cricket events."
