PAYNE REVEALED AS INDIA COACH
The Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) has unveiled Englishman Lee Payne as the coach of the Indian national cricket team. The fans have surprisingly reacted positively to the news, some writing on an internet forum that "he will not have any bias towards certain players" and that "he knows a lot about cricket. We will win the World Cup". Everyone hopes Payne can get the team to continue the good form they showed on the tour of Australia.
BAT Wasim Jaffer - The 30 year old made his test debut for India against South Africa at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in 2000. He has scored more than 11,000 runs in First-class cricket, in which he plays for his hometown team Mumbai.
BAT Virender Sehwag - Sehwag is likely to be the team's main attacking opening batsman. He made his test debut for India against South Africa at Goodyear Park in Bloemfontein in 2001, a match in which he made a century.
BAT Gautam Gambhir - The 26 year old made his test debut for India against Australia at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai in 2004. He is likely to be used in a rotation policy in both forms of the game.
