India Team Discussion

It's a shame that I can't seem to view this thread in the cricket discussion section because some of the discussion over in the last page was fascinating!

Looks like the OP was on my ignore list for some reason. Had the same problem with the Pakistani thread too. All sorted out now. :p
Well you literally had an Admin on your ignore list! Was that for real?

umm .. what is this? MSD in and as Atharva. Some sort of a graphic novel

I cannot even start to imagine how upset Rahane must be to speak out like this, given his calm and cool nature. Makes me dislike Shastri even more

In fact, Shastri became the voice of the team after those brilliant victories.

Rahane earned plaudits from the cricket fraternity for the manner in which he led the heavily depleted team in one of the most difficult situations, not just at the MCG but through the remainder of the four-match series.
India missed three front-line players at MCG, and continued to lose key players through the series to injuries but still emerged triumphant at the end of it all.

"After that, the reactions from people or those who took credit or what was said on the media, 'I did this' or 'This was my decision', or 'This was my call', it was for them to talk about," Rahane said.
"From my end, I knew what decisions I took on the field and what decisions I took on my instincts.

"Yes, we talked with the management too but I used to laugh about it, that is what I did on the field, I never talk much about myself or praise myself. But what I did there, I knew." However, Rahane suffered a prolonged slump after leading India to that historic series win in Australia, and it continued on the tour of South Africa.

Ajinkya Rahane- hate him if you want, but no one can take away the fact that it was under his captaincy that India took the Border-Gavaskar trophy in 2020/21. Yes, he has been out of form, however targetting him like they did isnt the right way to go about it.

Rahane has a calm demanour and am sure he wouldn't engage in unnecessary verbal duels by putting out something in the media. I do believe that Rahane was vindicated and that everything he has spoken in that interview is 100% true.

I know someone is waiting for me to comment on the Rahane interview and I am flattered honestly about the wait (Thank you!). I was totally into IPL auctions and apologies for keeping you wait...Anyways hope you're happy about this opinion of mine below -

Yeah, Rahane should've maintained his composure and just let his game do the talking. Yes he's on the verge of being dropped from the test side and risks an abrupt end to his entire international career altogether, but he has still not called it quits. He's playing in the Ranji trophy and should be using it as an opportunity to make a strong statement that he still has it in him. For him to now come out and say "someone else took the credit for my work" when he's still playing, is disappointing to me. If he made these comments in his post retirement autobiography book or wherever, wouldn't have minded that. But when you're active and still playing, these kind of statements dont help at all.
