The small boundaries and the flat pitch pretty much favours the batsman. Beware of the Overcast skies as it suddenly starts seaming around over here!

Lord_s.jpeg

Lord's, London
The hollowed turf as Lord's is generally a good bowling surface and the batting is generally difficult when the ball is going down the slope. Over the recent years the pitch over here is batting friendly.

Headingley-Leeds-cricket-stadium.jpg

Headingley, Leeds
This ground in Yorkshire is a batting paradise and it doesn't provide much help to the bowlers. The surface is slower than most of the pitches in England and is nice to play your shots right from the time you are at the crease.

oval.jpg

The Oval, London
Much like Headingley, The Oval is a slow surface where the ball nicely comes on the bat. There are some big scores on offer.

old trafford.jpg

Old Trafford, Manchester

This is the truest and the bounciest surface in the country and is competitive for both batsman and bowlers.

I am pleased that we are playing a Test match at Headingley. It has always been a special venue to us. We have never lost a match there since the late 60s

And the last time we played there in 2002 in ended up as being an historic win for us with Kumble taking 7 wickets. My best memory from that match is that Ganguly six landing right in the head of the spectator who was having a beer. I feel for that person but it was worth the sight for any Indian fan watching the match. Unfortunately I was only able to watch the highlights of the match in 2012-13 since back in 2002 I had just turned 3 a day before that match began. :p

It way too much boring cricket with England, tbh. We just got out of a home test series with them. Playing 9 tests against the same team, with boring squads calls for some pathetic viewing.

England isn't like Australia or Pakistan where the intensity of the spectator is quite high. Pretty sure, people are gonna fizzle out by the time this series ends.

A full strength English team can whitewash India 5-0. Will we have a full English squad, no? Archer has already pulled out with injury and as we’re noticing in the ongoing Test series with NZ the possibility of the Robinson guy being out for some more matches is very high with the ongoing investigations into his controversial
Tweets. There is some news another player may soon be investigated for some controversial stuff in social media.

The timing of all this leading up to the Indian tour is very coincidental aint it and only works in the favour of the Indian team. Pulling all old tweets aye! I’ve seen this strategy over the years, cant mess with pitches then use other means aye!

Virat continues to carry this Indian team on his back, Pujara having spend a couple seasons in county cricket has always performed under par and cannot be trusted to hold up his end. I am looking forward to see how Risbah performs in English conditions, assuming this his first tour of England? He seems an immense talent to me. The Indian fast bowlers still look like twigs that need to eat some food, wonder if their bodies can stand up to 5 test matches, Virat insists on fitness so I expect them to hold up.

My final prediction due to a weak English squad and a talismanic leader in Virat would be 3-1 in favour of the English team.

Well the last time India toured England in 2018, I saw flat dry tracks with no extra bounce to trouble the Indian batsmen. So I don’t think it would be anything different this time. On sporting wickets, England is as bad and we have already seen that in 2019 Ashes.
