Got me thinking whether the word of a #MumbaiLobby is actually prevalent in the team right now. I know I've opened a Pandora's box here, but would love to spice up things and let the thoughts flow

Everyone does not have to hang out with everyone to prove they are on good terms with each other. You can be cordial with people and close with a few others.

Root's wicket has made it an even day. Boy, he was looking set for another daddy hundred. 4 boundaries already in his 20+ score. Need to have England 7 down before 100 to have any chance of salvaging this match. Their batting has been beefed up with the inclusion of Woakes, who has had a stellar show with the ball. That ought to carry on to his batting.

Shardul scored some very useful runs at the end. Hope he has a good outing with the ball too. As expected, our core middle order failed again. Barring a series win, some heads are likely to roll.

Pant is so infuriating, and I actively want him to get out. Can't imagine what it's like having to pin hopes on him

That's the thing with him. You take whatever you get from him. Most days he will fail but the X-factor will always be there and that is what will keep the opposition bowlers on their toes.

You do realize this means the there's a greater chance of him scoring big in the next innings/match? He has had his quota of low score already fulfilled.

Anushka Sharma is a Bollywood actress so she has a lot to do with Mumbai as well. So your point seems a little irrelevant.

Also, if the wives of players are not getting along well with each other then it has nothing to do with the players themselves. Everyone can't get well together.

Just want to go back and dissect some of our batting yesterday. Rishab Pant got out to a ridiculous stroke, but I personally would be okay with Pant trying to go for extravagant shots. If it comes off, he plays a blinder like Shardul, India does get a respectable score.

Similarly, I would bat for playing Shaw at the top and letting him play freely-just like Sehwag. On difficult wickets, if Shaw gets India to a flyer, this immediately takes a lot of pressure off the middle order. I don't know why the management isn't thinking on those lines. This also means, KLR will drop down to the middle order -as a batsman in somewhat of a form, it would be interesting if he solidifies the middle order- the question though remains- At the expense of whom? Kohli, Pujara or Rahane?

Like this Jadeja promotion, something different. Although, I don't know if he's batting at 5 to try to counterattack or throw the English bowlers off a little bit coming this early

I still don't get the point of promoting him. what is Jadeja's role? Is he there to hold the fort or score runs? It hasn't worked and hope Kohli doesnt attempt anymore stupidity here. Don't forget there's an inherent bias towards the persistent selection of Jadeja in this team. Jadeja was Kohli's deputy in the U19 CWC in Malaysia. Perhaps got something to do with that.

In contrast to my post above, I would've played Ashwin ahead of Jadeja in the first 3 Tests and with Jadeja here at The Oval. Umesh Yadav's inclusion seemed to be unnecessary.
