Irfan is on the comeback trail. He will regain that same potency. I called it.

The way I look at t20's is as a warm up.
So i wouldn't look too seriously at the teams form when looking at t20's.
Maybe just players.

I think the Series will be quite even.
After watching NZ in Australia i would have to say that we are finding a bit of form in our top order, but still, i would hold my breath for the first 20 overs of an ODI.

I agree, that they are really only warm-ups when it comes to the ODIs. However we still beat the 'World Champs' twice which is pretty cool. Our T20 record isn't flash so I didn't really expect us to play so well. ODIs are our strong suit for sure.

If Ishant wasn't injured and bowled his overs out,India would have won..
A good match though.

Sure. You get that from your crystal ball? In all seriousness, i'm sure if India thought they could win they would have bowled him. I guess India didn't want to risk him straining it further. Ishant would have been easier to score off then the spinners (who bowled his extra overs)

There is some pressure on India going into the ODIs but with Sachin Tendulkar returning,India will be confident
I feel India will win 3-2 in Odis
In tests no idea

No Styris in the ODI squad I would like to call that a good move but his experience will surely be missed. Guess it also sends a message to the older guys play well or be replaced.

For me this is a big series for Broom he has had some very useful but small innings and I am sure at some stage he will get the chance to play a bigger one. When that happens he needs to step up and show he can play a big one with the likes of Styris, Franklin and Nathan McCullum pushing for spots.

The last thing I am concerned about is we only have the one spinner in the squad, even though India play spin well somtimes our pitches can be slow and a second spinner would be handy.

Hats off to New Zealand. Their bowling department are not much experience but still they were successful in beating Men In Blue. Really excellent. On the other hand, Martin Crow, in his article, has adviced Dhoni to be aware from Zaheer Khan as he is a threat to his captaincy. Maybe a tactics? Divide and Rule?

IMO all the rockstar media hype for the indian team is playing with their young heads.

NZ are clever.

ITS A CONSPIRACY!!

New Zealand love being he underdogs, and that's exactly what they are in this series. They're a far better side than the one that England toured, and the one that toured England. The top order is now actually looking solid, with McCullum, Ryder, Guptill, Taylor, Elliot and Oram all being capable of big runs, and their bowling is seeing real improvements as well. I've been massively impressed with Iain O'Brien, then you've obviously got Daniel Vettori, one of the most under-rated bowlers currently playing world cricket, and the best ODI bowler in the world. Ian Butler also looks good, and then it's a choice between Mills (who's got a good ODi record), the youngster Southee and the returning James Franklin. Things looking good for New Zealand, India defintely won't whitewash them like they did to England in India. I can see New Zealand pulling off a surprise ODi series win.

Surprise :p? I don't think it will be a surprise to be honest :p. I'm expecting us to lose the ODIs. I know we'll win the tests. I hope I get proven wrong on the ODI front though. We've got to get rid of the pretenders, Yusuf Pathan and Rohit Sharma. Yusuf Pathan because his technique isn't adequate to be able to tackle New Zealand's bowling in New Zealand, swing and all. Rohit Sharma, well, he's the prettyboy of Indian cricket. Looks absolutely fantastic when he gets it right but it doesn't happen too often does it? If he does play, it should be his last chance.

Badri looks even better, to be honest, and will get us mountains of runs more than Rohit.

Man, Yusuf Pathan is given such a short leash by members of this forum.

Couldn't agree with you more. Remember it was him who gave us them brilliant finishes against England and won us that T20 V Sri Lanka.

Yeah agreed he is a match winner. But he isnt consistent at all. He'll be called as a off-spinning afridi soon.
