India v South Africa in Ireland

About an hour back Neo Sports came on air and the commentators suggested that play may begin in a couple of hours. I'm guessing it would be a 30-over per side affair at most. Cricinfo says an inspection will happen in 1 minute.

LMAO since DD has to show the game, they're just at the ground showing the crowd. Mark Benson confirmed that chances of getting play started are quite low. Another inspection at 1 o'clock local time, if I heard correctly.

Another at 3:00 at local time. i think we'll have a 25 over affair. The rain seems to have stopped, and its just the wet outfied. If they are using the supersucker thing then i think we can get some game time in.

Now, if we do have a 25, or 20 over game the whole gameplan will change. I suggest opening the batting with Ghambir and Tendulkar, to set it a blaze. Dhoni at 3, followed by KKD, Ganguly Dravid, and the bowlers.

I disagree. Ganguly on slog mode can be awesome, better than Gambhir. Followed by Dhoni, Yuvraj, Karthik, Dravid and co.

EDIT: 31 overs a side. This looks like a good game.

Update:

Cricinfo said:
15:10 local, 14:10 GMT There's been no rain since 12.00pm, the umpires have inspected the conditions with the captains, against the background of a fairly vocal crowd, and we have confirmation. A 31-overs a side game will get underway at 4.00pm local time.

yay. 1 hour!

woops, forgot about Yuvi.
Are you sure? ever since his reappearance into cricket suggest that he's changed his game more into "anchor mode"
I hope you're right though.

Now the final match may be a 20/20 ;)
ThirtyOne/31 :p

Saffers certainly have the upper hand, with more experiances in 2020/ shorter games then India. But remember, we beat them in our one off 2020 game...KKD can do it again :D

I can see an Indian victory today. They have some great players, they just need to concentrate. Hopefully, this will be the only victory you will have in the UK this year!
First of many my friend. Can't wait to siggy this when we whitewash you :p
Goodluck to England too though!

Agarkar in.
Team in no order:
India team
SC Ganguly, captainR Dravid, SR Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, KD Karthik, Piyush Chawla, G Gambhir, Z Khan, RP Singh, AB Agarkar, wicket-keeperMS Dhoni

Great start by Agarkar. The balls to Van Wyk and Kallis were some of the best I've seen. Consistent outswingers to Van Wyk followed by a straight one that did him all ends up. Jaffa to Kallis.

Oh my God. How the hell has De Villiers survived that! That was as out as you get; clear edge.
WTF! Gambhir drops it.! How's De Villiers still in ?!

Surely the Third Umpire should intervene. This is not acceptable. It went off the edge, to slip! What is Aleem Dar doing ?!

loved tendulkars anger and aggression towards the umpire....
aleem dar was scared for a moment :p and he should be !!

Exactly my thoughts. I've never seen a worse decision in my life.

yes...even darrel hair's decision was mercyful...but this is just inexcusable !!!

Superb stuff happening here! Peach to Kallis, shocker by Aleem Dar, brilliant bowling by Zaheer and Agarkar. Lovely aggression from Tendulkar!

All happening here. Go 'n watch the game guys! Its fun!

I hope India win the match here today to pocket the series. Would be a lovely thing after a very hard last few months!

He's human, he makes mistakes, he is a cricket umpire, he makes terrible mistakes, live with it!:D

Whats the point of showing up to play if the toss determines the result, I already know that India is going to win this game. What a wast of time

Really. You think India aren't putting the ball in the correct place? There is extra swing but part of being a good batsman is dealing with it. And what's to say that the swing won't last into the second innings? I think this match could get really close. I suspect we'll see a fightback from Boucher and a couple of quick wickets at the start and it could all be very different when India bat.

Exactly my thoughts. I've never seen a worse decision in my life.
I don't know whose thoughts you're agreeing with but I agree with your thoughts. I was fuming over it during dinner and I'm glad Ganguly dismissed him soon after. I seriously think even most Indian domestic umpires would have gotten that decision right!

However, Ganguly's swing worries me. If the swing lasts into the second innings, South Africa have a perfect bowling line-up to bundle us out.

India on fire. it would be hard to lose from here.

@ Sohums last point: I think the conditions will change and become more batter friendly.
We need to get rid of gibbs and kemp. both are great finishers. Cmon india.
