India's Tour of Sri Lanka

First referral and not out. I don't know why they asked for a review. It was clearly going down the leg-side.

It was a memorable moment years ago when third umpire has been introduced to judge run outs and Sachin was the first victim who given out.
I am feeling like Sachin again will be first case here as he loves to be in History.

They look pretty lethargic out there. Karthik is usually the spark plug of the team and he's been down after that dropped catch.

This is promising start from Warnapura. It is his 4th test match only and He already has made 2 ton and 2 fifties.Good start from Youngster though I don't want to ruin his party by mentioning Pitch.Well Played boy.

There is no atmosphere in the ground. The crowd is too quiet, almost non-existent and the players seem out of it like pal said. At the moment, this is pretty boring to watch.

I'm going to go to sleep at lunch, unless a wicket falls from now until then.

I guess it's pretty late in Venezuela too.

Yeah, but I'm on vacation so it's all good.

It's Sehwag! Come on Sehwag! Hat-trick before lunch :p!

Ghar ja bete. Get in there! Bhajji strikes! Turn and bounce. Peach of a delivery. Hopefully one brings two here.

Zaheer is bowling very slow..around 10kph below his normal speed. Is he just conserving energy or is age starting to set in? Or is it the pitch?

He's not all that young, You wonder how a player averaging only 36 after more than a hundred matches can look so polished in Test cricket, but Warnapura has been a very consistent cricketer in the past two and a half years, scoring more than 3000 runs at an average over 45. It perhaps coincides with a decision to concentrate on batting, having taken 105 of his 115 first class wickets before the 2005-06 season.

Of course, in his Test career, we have seen he has been a little lucky, with some of the weaker opponents and he has had some good pitches to play on, but he has capitalised well so far.

Zaheer is getting the ball to talk here. Commentators reckon it's reverse swing. I sense a breakthrough. However, as long as Jayawardene is around, a total of 370-400 is almost certain.

Ground staff starting to gather along the boundary ropes. Rain on the way? I think so.

i am finding this referral system funny, in a good sense though, it brings more justice to the game, good for umpires rather than bad as media was hyping. good for players as well.

and i said it was funny because, after a side has 1 or 2 referrals down/lost . .it builds pressure on players rather than umpires :laugh

Small note: He went to my cricket club (in 2005) and scored a fair few runs - but don't underestimate the impact of his bowling, he picked up loads of wickets too. Safe as can be in the slips too. More importantly though, he is hard working and takes his game very seriously. He then left my division IV club and broke some records in the Yorkshire Premier League.

500+ is on the cards, the way things are going.

I don't think he is 100% 'match fit'. Keep in mind that the pace of the pitch cannot affect the speed gun since it measures the speed of the ball just after release (before it has pitched). However, the slow nature of the pitch might have demotivated him to bowl quickly. Waqar and Wasim showed well that pace is important in the subcontinent to fully harness reverse swing and maybe this is something that Zaheer can learn from - indeed, if a decision is made to speed up, it must be made with Kumble's approval so he can bowl the pace bowlers in shorter spells.

God . . . this is boring. The way this is going, even 700 is on the cards . . . complete anhialation :boxing

All we need is a Harbhajan Hattrick. ;)
