India's Tour of Sri Lanka

It's a shame this happened because Dravid was looking really comfortable at the crease until that delivery. Everyone's chanting Mendis' names but Murali is the one who has ripped through us.

That's the way Sehwag plays, regarding the strike rate. But yeah, he got out playing a horrendous shot. Looked really awful that one. Obviously got carried away there.

:boxing

Time to drop Dravid and Jumbo.

Kartick lovers I hope you are happy now. :mad

Expect Indian to bat like this when everything is fine with pitch. :boxing Match will be over tomorrow.

I hope Indians know rain dance.

It is obvious that the wicket has no demon in it, the quicks did nothing really, it is, I believe that the Indian batsmen came out so pre-occupied with the whole Mendis presence that they forgot they were also batting against the best spin bowler in the world, and leading wicket taker in test cricket, and yes they did play some kissmeass shots and got out as well, Sehwag and more so Karthik. But they seems to have little to no defense against the slow blowers, Dravid, can you believe that Tendulkar was tentative to play spin, thats why he got out, I mean you hardly see that happen, but the first ball from making the switch from one side of the wicket to the other and boom. It was just great bowling by the two Murali and Mendis, the latter bowled to some of the best players of spin in the world and he worked them over.

Can't ask for more.
That is top Class from Murli. At least the wickets of Sachin and Ganguly were priceless.I wasn't expecting anything from rest though.
It is unlikely that Srilanka will bat again and I don't see India saving this test match until Rain will play his part.

Sometimes I hate being right. :(

This whole Mendis thing is eating India from the inside. They really need rain and bad light to come to their rescue, now!

Hope Laxman, probably the best player of spin in the side, can get some runs tomorrow and that the tail at the other side can hold fort. We need to chop off as many runs as possible since the follow-on is inevitable.

Seems like SL have a deadly attack right now with Mendis and Murali. I guess Murali will continue till Mendis is fully settled in. If you concentrate too much on Mendis, Murali will get you, and vice versa. With Mendis's bowling, you cant predict what he will bowl and he is so clever in disguising. It will take a hell lot of time to get used to him.

How will he fare on non turning wickets? Got to see...

My predictions last night all are shattered now by this Indian performance (but I did say that India are capable of this!). It seems funny that we seem to be on a different level only against Australia. When against other teams, I dont see the same intensity and effort. What makes us tick against the best, and not against the rest?

Mendis doesn't rely on a great amount of spin, therefore I think he can be successful on all tracks. I think India are a victim of circumstances here. I mean, you can't fault them for their first innings bowling effort. Not really, I don't think. The pitch was flat and really needed someone fiesty like a Murali or Mendis, which India don't have. The likes of Zaheer and Harbhajan would always find it hard on a track like this. When India were chasing, they had the pressure of the large total to chase and the Sri Lankan bowlers could bowl with a lot of freedom.

Credit to the spinners. The bowling was really really good. The batsmen couldn't relax one bit and there were barely any loose deliveries.

great century from Dilshan. I really liked this guy ever since I started following cricket, he is greatly underrated. He can adapt to any situation but than he can play some really wonderful strokes. He is one of the best fielders in the game today and he can bowl some useful off spin.

And same goes for Samaraweera, the guy averaged 42 before this test started and he also has 348 First Class wickets. When he started his international career he was selected as a spin bowler.

People think that as soon as you get past Jayawardena that the Sri Lankans will fold but these 2 guys are good batsman and can hold their own.

And not to forget Murli, almost begging you to say Mendis Who?

yes murli is good and knows how to take wickets, mendis is maintaining the pressure and murli is picking up wickets. .and when indians are taking care of murli, mendis will get another one.. .it is a trap and very difficult to get out of it.

I really can't understand why Indians do not play sweep shot, it is so safe shot to spinners and one doesn't have to know where the ball will spin. as it is a cross batted shot. sweep is the only option to tackle both of them. Matthew Hayden is so good at it.

still Indians have chance to draw at least , if they bat with bit of brains.

indian bowlers are crap, but their bowlers are world class. .dunno what will happen. .but the match is getting interesting in boring conditions. .
