India's Tour of Sri Lanka

They've brought a new meaning to M&Ms. The Indians were outclassed by the spinners. Simple as. Kumble and Harbhajan look toothless in comparison.

They were toothless because Kumble's googly doesn't work anymore and Harbhajan doesn't know how to bowl doosra...

True. Well, the point is that international batsmen can now play traditional spinners quite easily. You're not going to see a traditional spinner rip through a batting line up, I don't think. These guys are different and that's what makes em take wickets.

Good luck playing Sri Lanka in Sri Lank for next 3 years till Murli is around. Now with Mendis in Vaas can even think of retiring.

:cheers

Well played India.

:happy
Lol. I'm not that disappointed with this loss. I honestly think the bowling was mega awesome. Great fun watching them bat. The batsmen tho...:
Sehwag : First innings, silly dismissal. But he must play like he does normally, but cut out the extremely awful shots.
Gambhir : Played well, showed promise, tame ends.
Dravid: Seriously short on confidence. Perhaps deserves to be dropped. Yes, I said the d word.
Tendulkar: Same as Gambhir.
Ganguly: Got out to some very good bowling. Another day perhaps he'd have survived:
Laxman: Got starts, didn't capitalise. Not good enough.
Karthik: LOL

Not much needs to be said bout the rest. The few guys that got starts should've carried on. The bowling needs to be more incisive. The spinners looked dull and the bowling was easy to handle. I think Ishant perhaps holds the trump card on flat tracks like these, but you can't expect him to rip through the batting. If only we had spinners like M&Ms.

19 wickets out of 20 from the spinners. Unbelievable.
The wicket that Kulasekara got was gifted to him by Sehwag too. SL's fast bowlers looked very ordinary.

Cant blame Sehwag. If he is hit he will hit opposition out off game.

But this side is too old. Indias 35 year old is like 50 year old Aussie.

Overlooking on mendis, and this is the appropriate Result for the indians, they have taken Murali off lightly, What?!, The bowler, Probably the best in Cricket, not being cared was mindless, Though in the interviews before the match, Indians stated that we will look forward for the challenge of the spinning duo", though it's quite obvious, they have worked on Mendis who looked ordinary against the top order, ( not considering One or two wickets of the big fellows) Went for a lot of runs as indians were aware of his powers, though they weren't SO Enthusiastic in playing Murali and payed everything for it, " A Loss ", Enough Said..

Great result for sri lanka but the Indians were outclass thought they were very good players of spin g=but Muli proved to us that he can destroy any side at will! great bowling bye the sri lankan spinners

I was anticipating for a thing like this. Remember the 1st test of last test series that SriLanka played in India? Murali really made the Indian batsmen dance to his tune and here is no difference. From the 2nd test match India started playing him well.
I do think that the Indian Batsmen will make amends in 2nd test match.

India's has been always been like that.Slammed on the floor face-down.
And next match they go challenging the opponents as if it is a do or die match.God help India:help

I like how you said that everyone did OK except Dravid. If he is to be dropped than so should Tendulkar and Ganguly. They didn't perform any better than Dravid did, Gambhir and Laxman were the best by far and you say that Tendulkar did as good as Gambhir?? not even close in this test.

Sri Lankas fast bowlers were not as effective because they didn't bowl that many overs. They were there for formalities to scuff up the ball a little bit. Not to mention Vass only bowled 10 out of the 30 overs that the fast bowlers bowled. If he had bowled as many overs as the Indian pace bowlers he would have been more effective than they were.

Finally what a job by the MMs, This could be a lethal combination if Murali can stick it out for 3 more years. Mendis was brilliant in his 1st test, I remember after he owned the Indians in the Asia Cup everyone was saying he wont due the same in tests against us and look what happens. Now we know that Sri Lanka will go with 2 spinners and 2 pace bowlers or maybe even 3 pace bowlers.

Wow. Wasn't on Sky so I didn't see it but that comprehensive. If India really want to 2nd best in the world, they really have to pick their game up (as if they didn't already know that). As for Mendis, perhaps his novelty will wear off and he'll become a Shahid Afridi/ Tendulkar type of bowlers with more skill.
