Having decided a continuous cricket history was too restrictive I am now just going to play different series from throughout history, leaping through time as I see fit.
The first tour I will cover is one of my favourite, an India tour of Pakistan in 2003/4.
I increased the length of the tour to 6 Tests and added some practice games to the schedule, I also increased the size of the India squad.
I will be using the Injury Rules from the Welcome Back to the West Indies set, and Enhanced New Ball Rules, and ignoring the too frequent in game Injuries.

Pakistan Board President's XI v Indians - 4 day match - at Lahore - 2003/4 - Match Preview

Pitch: (1999-2005) - 99 - Hard and rather bumpy, this wicket should help the pace bowlers early on.
Torrential rain for three days has been followed by a three week drought and beneath the hard crust here is probably a layer of moist soil.
If the surface goes through aw seems likely the spinners may be able to exploit the damage later in the match. Batting is not going to be easy at any time in this match.

PCB XI v Indians - 4 day match - at Rawalpindi - 2003/4 - Match Preview

Pitch: (1998-2005) - 63 - This looks a poorly prepared track hardly fit to stage a one day game and certainly not a Test match.
The pitch is hard and bumpy, promising all sorts of problems for the batsmen, and it is already showing signs of cracking.
The fast bowlers will relish bowling on such a helpful surface but any further damage will produce a wicket on which all types of bowler will pose problems.
