IPL 2016 - Player Auction

This is interesting that only 5 players that were involved in the spot-fixing will be available for these two new franchises while the other players will go into the Auction.

^Pointless.

5 players are those players who are rated high and have high brand value.
i.e, M.S.Dhoni , Shane watson etc……
 
Dhoni, Ashwin and Du Plessis go to Pune; Raina, Jadeja, McCullum and Bravo go to Rajkot! For a CSK fan, this is torture. Watching our boys fight against each other.

Still maintain - you cannot punish an entire city for the actions of one guy. The rule (of suspending the team for the action of one guy) is plain ridiculous. To think that such rules will deter people from indulging in dirty activities is foolishness. People can come in, earn the amount of big money they want from such activities and then bail out (if they have big connections). Watch Gurunath walk out pretty easily soon.
 
I still can't get over the fact that they gave Rajkot a team but not Ahmedabad.
 
@SaiSrini Chennai Super Kings were suspended. Not Chennai itself. If any other bidder had chosen Chennai instead of the other two cities, then Chennai would have been back to IPL with different franchise. But the winners in the bidding auction placed their bids for Rajkot and Pune.

@Aalay No one gives any team to anyone. It's all in the bidding process. The bidders bid on Rajkot and won, hence Rajkot was included. If anyone had bid successfully for Ahmedabad, then Ahmedabad would have3 come into the picture.

Rising Pune Supergiants-YUCK.What a bad name and the Logo is so bad.
Gujarat Lions-Name is less than average but great work on logo.
 
Tomorrow auction at 9 AM. Hopefully RCB buys some good local bowler.
 
Our(MI's) lineup can be pretty stronger with present squad we have; offering couple of good oversea options in backup.

The form of domestic players is a major boost. Pandya finished as top runs scorer in Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy, while both Rana and Chand finished in top 10. Bumrah has been changed a lot from what I saw of him last year. Corey Anderson is a big player, but merely can't be fitted in the lineup unless a foreign player injures or struggles with form. But actually MI's team management provide excessive chances even to a player going through his worst ever run. Even so, Anderson leaves a great replacement option in case that occur.
 
RCB gets Shane Watson. Gayle, Kohli, AB, Watson. What a line-up !!! Just fantastic.
