Ed Joyce is a ray of hope for them. He has bit of international experience.
I feel they should give tough competition to others, and try making it into Quarter finals.

Hope they do good in this WC, which can help them in future to get Full Membership status.

This is one nation that deserves Full membership. They have, of late, been losing a lot of quality players to England. If the ICC does not act, Irish cricket will soon be extinct. I think what goes against them is the fact that they don't have Test status and many players are aspiring to play in Test matches.

Breaking News:

William Porterfield says that the Irish plan to restrict India to less than 350 to give themselves a chance. He further adds that the team management as calculated that should India post 315, they [Ireland] can comfortably beat them]. However, he says that homeground advantage should help India in posting 350.

Still it does not rule out an Irish chance, does it ? :p

So based on this report we should see some bald or green heads of the Irish players. :lol

'Ireland's World Cup cricketers have agreed to undergo a charity makeover ahead of tomorrow's group B match with England. Members of the Irish squad will take part in 'Shave or Dye 2011', a campaign in aid of Irish Cancer Society which is bidding to raise one million euros through a number of similar events in the coming weeks. Players can choose to either shave their head or dye their hair green. (PA)'

I get the feeling that the Irish might just spring a surprise tomorrow and might run India close as well.

Hope India have woken up after that England thrashing (of their bowling attack) and also take note of Ireland's win against England and turn up really alert,

Certainly have performed well above expectations. Have been better than Bangladesh too, pity they could not manage to win there.

With the teams precariously poised in Group B, these blokes are in with a great chance of making to the semi-final at the expense of either England or South Africa.

A win over the Proteas and the Dutch should see them through.
