Just playing Glamorgan vs Lancashire in a four day match.
After a couple of overs had gone by the score was 64-2 and going along quite nicely. Anyway, I brought Darren Thomas and Alex Wharf on to bowl and the game pretty much ground to a halt.
Basically, Alec Swann and Stuart Law started playing in a rubbish way. Anything outside off stump was left alone while anything going in to middle or middle and leg was flicked through the on-side. As is the case with good bowling I concentrated on the line of off stump or slightly outside, but the buggers played every single one of these deliveries with that little flick across the line to midwicket.
Everything from just short of a length to yorker length was turned to the legside for no run. Not a hint of a leading edge or even one shout for LBW.
Even when I brought on Adrian Dale to swing the ball away they kept playing the same shot.
In 19 overs they totalled 12 runs....eight of them extras from bouncers going over the keeper and the other 4 were singles flicked down to fine leg when I got the line wrong.
I wouldn't have minded if they were batting to save the game but it was just after lunch on the first day....
