Is it fair to blame Younis Khan for Pak's ouster from CT?

I've read a lot of articles in the subcontinental newspapers and websites and the one's from Pakistan have been extremely critical of Younis Khan role in the CT Semi Final. They note that Younis lost Pakistan the match since he played despite being injured and hampered his team's chances.

What must be noted here is that the same media would have panned him if he would have not participated in the Semi-Final and questioned his integrity. This means that the media has a problem if he plays and also if he were to not play. They go ahead and mislead the people on the issue and it was shocking to see my Pakistani friend slamming Younis for playing with an injury, when I spoke to him on the eve of Pakistan's ouster.

I think this is quite uncalled for. Younis Khan is a very respectable and competitive bloke and an individual who will give his all to his country. Instead of appreciating his courage to play with an injury, people are cornering him for his undoubted commitment.

I dont know about others but I am a big fan of Pakistan's captain. Great man!

People and the media in general love a scapegoat. They feel like they have to blame the loss on someone and that's understandable but that's life.

They got some hoooorible decisions against them. Didn't expect it from Taufel, but it was a simple mistake. Kiwi's played better cricket.

The IPL is responsible for this granting a window may stop this incidents

;)

^^^ You are starting, what will be, a juicy conversation on the subject. And Pakistan's players were barred from playing in the IPL this year and most of their players had their contracts cancelled, need you be reminded :p

Pakistan should have beaten Australia. Topped group and played England. Won that match and go to final.

India would also have gone and beaten Kiwis for India-Pakistan dream final.

What nice dream ;)

Damn right we should. In fact like chetan said, I think we should blame the IPL as well, along with those other 2.

Not IPL but Champions League. Pakistan players were thinking of what if they were playing there also.

^^^ An India-Pakistan Final would have been great for One Day Cricket. We all saw how the 2007 T20 WC Final went - jampacked, passionate fans, unmatchable excitement and euphoria. Couldn't happen. But no worries.

We shall have an India-Pakistan CWC 2011 World Cup Final. Inshallah :)

Younis Khan's Pakistan vs MS Dhoni's India. 2 great captains, 2 great teams. :hpraise

Please wait. Enough of 'counting chickens even before they are hatched'. I seriously hope that for the 2011 WC, we have less hype and real good performance from our team. I dont care which team comes to the final. We should be there.

An Australia-NZ was just as good IMO. One of the games most underrated rivalries.
